This year again, and for more than four consecutive years, I got the congratulations of two Academy Inspections for excellence in my work and my results in evaluation of students that I followed in English, French and maths (with different methods but those were much more appreciated than those generally used in school!).
1/ In French and Maths I explain those subjects in a different way compared to what is done generally. However it's much more effective and it enables students to:
- understand, respecting their rhythm and interests, the entire program,
- make rapid progress
I also lean on innovative pedagogies that lead young people to:
- quickly improve their understanding through highly visual explanations or using concrete objects.
In maths I use for example, the Singapore method. (Method widely acclaimed by the few schools in France that apply this method) . I always link this matter to their lives every day, or in areas of interest ( leisure craft project) to maintain their interest and motivation:
Mathematics is there to help us understand the world, to succeed ... in our projects, not to scare us!
2/ In order to love speaking English, it's easy following the same principles as those with which each of us acquires his (her) mother tongue, very naturally.
These methods, used in learning centers such as Berlitz or in the International Schools (I participated to their program for several years) prove to be much more effective because more "alive". The classes are motivating and progress are fast ... at any age!
Moreover, I attach a particular importance to show children and teens how to organize, synthesize their courses and review them easily by making mind maps (many articles on the internet about this "tool" ).
All children can succeed through courses based on:
understanding (the "by heart" is very often a trap)
and effective organization of knowledge.
20 years experience of very diverse nearby children with learning difficulties in school and children defined as 'dys' dyslexic, dyscalculic, children with motor or psychological problems involved in sports and studies curriculum, music-school studies
Most of time, the results have been beyond the expectations of the parents after just one year of follow up. Testimonials on request.
