I teach beginner guitar using the teaching book ‘Progressive Beginner Guitar, by Gary turner. If the student just wants to learn rhythm guitar. I can teach them chords using my own knowledge or by using Progressive beginner guitar Chords by Gary Turner. All books would need to be either purchased by the student. Or reimburse the cost to me during the lesson.
At the moment I am mainly teaching beginners but I can also help people who have some experience in Music and wish to see my approach in teaching. I focus mainly on getting the basics of singing down packed at first, and then continue to improve on smaller details as the singer improves.
The aim of my lessons is to provide students with the techniques required to develop excellent habits, which can always lead to excellent results if practised. For the first few weeks, students will be guided through a healthy vocal warm up to start each lesson, but ideally, in due course they will be able to warm up on their own before the lesson in order to maximise the time we have.
I believe every individual gets in touch with music through listening and embracing them. Music is supposed to be a fun and enjoyable thing for kids. For kids between the age of 5 to 9, I would begin with their gifted skill, listening. Listening to every tune of the note and how each note links together into a song.
My teaching method is to learn how to sing freely with good technique as to not to hurt the voice. We work on correct breathing, posture, pitch, dynamics, diction. Learn how to sing in a fun environment .
After personally struggling with music theory in school I learnt many short cuts and different ways to approach situations. This is something I find really important because one way doesn’t work for everyone.
I intend to sit down with my student/s and find out exactly what and why they want to learn. From there we will explore the students favourite music and styles and I will teach them everything I know to help them achieve their goal/dream.
I am a student at UWA with over 14 years of experience in piano, having gained my associate diploma (AMusA). I recently graduated from Churchlands SHS where I was involved in the Specialist Music Programme, and achieved the Subject Exhibition Award for attaining the top WACE exam mark in the state for ATAR Music last year (percussion).
I have a creative and flexible approach and have highly developed musicianship, vocal, stagecraft and performance abilities. By setting realistic expectations and using positive reinforcement, I aim to create a fun environment that is conducive to learning for both child and adult alike.
My lessons are aimed at those with beginner to intermediate level music theory knowledge. I assess what previous knowledge the student has to plan out appropriate direction for future lessons. These lessons will generally involve revision of previous concepts, teaching of new concepts and then implementing the concepts in practice.
I like to base my classes on the way I learned piano when I was younger. No exams, nothing that puts too much pressure on your child as this can take the love of music away from a person.
Hi there! :) I am Wyandrhine and I am an 18 year old high school graduate from Northpine Christian College. I believe my music education in and outside of school, practical experiences, self-learning, and my enthusiastic and outgoing personality would make me your great tutor.
_For general trainee who wants to take more implementation for their current song practices: Come and tell me your songs, the aim which lets you practice it (such as to be in a contest; to jam with another musicians,etc..) then I will work it out professionally.
I believe in helping my students find their own unique voice. In the lesson we will work on exercises to strengthen your voice and boost your confidence as a performer, and apply these exercises practically as we work through a variety of songs of your choosing (with guidance from me). We will sing along with a recording, a cappella and with guitar accompaniment.
My teaching method is traditional but is very focused on individual needs. Whilst my background is western classical, I appreciate that students may want to explore other genres - exploring jazz, rock and musical theatre for example. Over the past 4 years since I started teaching in Brisbane from home and I have helped over 15 students of varying ages.
Development of a healthy technical foundation including breath management skills, body awareness and style appropriate vocal techniques as well as the skills required to perform. A fun and relaxed environment for all ages and levels of experience to learn and achieve personal goals.
I am friendly, professional and creative in my teaching style. I love teaching. I usually work half half on technique and troubleshooting and on song and style development and tailor my lessons for each students personal goals and needs in liaison with them. I teach beginners to advanced.
Tailored to students, I approach each person as an individual, matching their energy and helping them stick to their goals. Kids are encouraged to play and have fun as well as increase their awareness of their own habits and practices, so they can learn in a way that is best suited to them, and feel empowered to take charge of their learning.
Over 20 years experience dealing with students of all ages and personality types. I use both tried and true methods but also recent scientifically proven methods to improve creativity, expression, imagination, muscle memory, balance, analytical thinking, and help with mental disorders and shy personalities.
With regard to singing I highly value a healthy vocal technique that doesn't result in fatigue, tension and discomfort. There is a strong focus on developing freely produced sounds along with an emphasis on fun and enjoyment throughout the process.
I plan and prepare my lessons in advance to cater for individual students needs and examination syllabus, while helping students develop a broader appreciation and understanding of music in a variety of styles through looking at theory, sight-singing, composition and other areas. I do my best to create a positive learning environment for students.
I teach the Estille method of voice which places a large focus on the mechanical workings of the vocal chords and lungs. I also teach my students pieces of technique from other vocal practices. I am a firm believer in teaching correct vocal technique from a very early age.
The structure of my teaching method for singing/vocal technique is by starting my lessons with an introduction to breathing and the Alexander Technique. Breathing and the Alexander Technique is essential to a singer/musician's technique. It teaches proper posture, breathing, and movement and allows the student to be a safe performer.
My lessons will start with basic breathing techniques and warm ups, followed by working through a range of genres that the student is willing to dive into. This allows growth in techniques that are present in different genres. We work to have fun pieces, technical pieces and those we aim to perfect in the future. My students always arrive and leave with a smile on their face.
I like my students to be comfortable but they know I like to get their best work out of them with an easy going approach. Hard work pays off, but not in an old-school sense. I like students to focus on their interest areas but with honest guidance.
Lessons are centralised around the artistic and technical desires of the student / performer - whatever your personal wishes and goals are in singing and music, our lessons will be uniquely tailored and shaped to suit. There is a focus on building a student's vocal technique and growing their ability as a performer and storyteller.
I approach each student by assessing their learning style (visual, aesthetic etc). We have set tasks in place and goals to reach as to build our repertoire and knowledge. In understanding why we do what we do, we can then develop our skill sets more effectively.
I believe that music is a fluid and living form of expression. As each person is different so too will be their musical style, practice and mentality be. Because of this, I tailor my lessons to the students needs, hoping to nurture and grow the untapped potential of everyone single person.
My teaching is based upon gaining an understanding of what the student wants to get out of learning the guitar and move forward with a fun and structured approach to achieve that goal, whether that be to learn songs, follow a formal grading route, develop technique or learn new skills - beginner to advanced.
My teaching Method is practical, aiming to train the voice itself. In the process you will learn musical skills which will help you excel in your singing ability. As a fresh and young male voice, I can better connect with a younger student through being able to relate my experiences with them. I can work with most genres (Pop and indie) as well as choral performance.
