I approach my subjects with a slow and steady attitude. Organized notes with diagrams and pictures are the best way to go when studying science subjects. I also enjoy flashcards/memory/matching games to help with vocabulary. Understanding processes and the location of these processes are very important when studying scientific subjects.
I find the best way to learn things is to talk about it! I have been told i'm a good teacher my by fellow students and colleagues. I like to seperate things out into certain topics, dependent on what you're studying, to be able to tackle them one by one.
Being a medical student, I have copious amounts of biology resources at my fingertips and would use these to aid in my teaching. I would be more than happy to help with assignments and high school EEI's and can assist in the design and language styles of scientific reports.
My teaching methods change. I like to have a feel for what my student(s) best learn with, whether that be power-points, flashcards, videos, notes, group discussions over skype, and more! If you have an idea of a method that you would like me to try, I will. The goal is to teach you and you can teach me! There's lots of room to learn.
When I was in highschool, I always consult my classmates on what is topic they are confused about and I explain it step by step in order for them to understand the concept of the topic given to me. I based my teachings through starting into basics and applying it into advance problems. Also when teaching Maths I make problem sets to practice them.
I am a JCU Pharmacy Student and love to interact with motivated students. Having years of experience as a mentor with high school, college and uni students, I have a strong ability to explain complex concepts in an easy and understandable way. I like to approach problems from different perspectives in a way that gives a full and complete picture of the situation.
The way I tutor is very interactive, hands on, and at the speed which bests suits the student. As a visual and physical learner I love to use metaphors, acronyms, analogies along with getting up and drawing things out on a board.
My teaching method is adaptive to my students' learning abilities! I tend to establish a trustworthy environment where the most effective learning tools for each individual student are explored and applied. I approach topics according to students' goals and priorities.
I like to make worksheets for my students that cover the previous lesson's material. So part of the lesson is a worksheet, and the next part is a teaching session. If there are any problems we would go over them at that point in time as well. Also, notes will be provided with blanks that are required to be filled in during the lesson.
My style of teaching varies according to the needs of the student, as I believe that each child learns differently. The aim of my teaching is to prepare the student for success by teaching them the skills that are required to do well in the subject.
I will pre-prepare notes for all my lessons and will use different methods and analogies to explain topics. I will also be able to provide my students with the right resources to suit their learning needs. I prepare worksheets and quizzes, as well as presentations to guide their learning.
I am extremely passionate about teaching. I provide a learning environment that encourages questions, ignites curiosity and fosters love for the natural world and environment. I am very patient with solving a student's doubt. I make sure that each student gets to learn at his/her pace. I make sure that every students gets equal attention, irrespective of learning abilities.
As I am new to this industry I am still developing my skills, but I would hope that by using a combination of learning techniques I would rather encourage a student to utilise their own skills and expand their own knowledge base to better understand the subject at hand.
I base my lessons on the content that students believe they are most struggling with. Once they have a better understanding of this, I also like to ensure we've reviewed the rest of the content and then completed a few practice exams.
I am a patient and flexible tutor, and I believe that learning is best achieved in a relaxed environment. I will tailor my lessons to your needs, and I am happy to proof-read essays, presentations and scientific reports. I can help with understanding biological concepts and any preparation for tests or assignments.
I am a very visual learner myself so I like to use a lot of simple diagrams to explain topics students find difficult.
