I do not stick to the textbook materials as learning a language has to be an enjoyable experience. I always use some songs or oral expressions to explain nooks and crannies of the Korean language. I always encourage my students to utilise what they have learned throughout the course into their own life as language is a skill not a trophy.
I base my classes more on speaking and pronounciation rather than grammar or reading. Plus, I will share my experience in Korea.
Still on the way to teaching life for 10 years. Staying in Australia for 9 years at the moment and now still teaching English to Korean, and Korean to Australian.
My teaching method is based on conversation dialogues which are the most basic and practical for living a life and first of all I like to trigger your Korean interest
