Questioning is my main method. My question will lead you to find the answer by yourself over an interesting and challenging process. Once you've got to the good answer, it will become part of you that you will never need cheat sheets for. The questions will highly resemble what you will have in the SAGs and final exams, which in the meantime facilitates improvement of writing style.
I have found that the best way to teach is through multimedia presentations and visual elements. These do a great deal to help a student understand the historical context in which an event belongs to and to appropriately gauge the nuances of different genres of literature.
I focus on understanding the material taught - the methods I use help students realise and retain knowledge learnt in school so they may apply it in other areas of their life. The content imposed upon students in school is very heavy and can be extremely dull - I break down these chunks of material into smaller, easier-to-comprehend situations that are applicable in real life.
People learn at their own pace, so keeping an open dialogue and keeping the student comfortable with what they are learning is important. Fundamentals are also extremely important, and a big part of my teaching will be geared toward that.
In historical, sociological or political learning the geopolitical background to your study allows you to have a unique understanding when preparing papers on your selected subject. I teach exclusively via online tutoring either via skype or typing directly to your queries.
Having recently completed year 12, I have an intimate understanding of these subjects and can offer invaluable guidance in concepts and content; essay writing, exam technique and short answer questions; and general management of stress and the year 12 workload.
I approach my topics by first breaking down to its basic components and definitions, delving into the background behind it. This better informs the individual of not just what but why, which will enable a greater understanding of the topic as it is explained in greater detail. Through understanding the basics the more advanced aspects can be more easily comprehended.
My teaching method is to make students feel comfortable with new content and ensure they get the most out of the university experience. Gaining genuine understanding of new theories and course content is the secret to writing great essays and assignments.
My approach is rigorous but empathetic and based on over five years of experience, most recently with Carfax Education in Russia, Dubai and London. I am especially good with shy students and, as a reformed slacker myself, with those who need a little extra motivation.
My teaching method is very simple. I start with an introductory lesson to connect with the student and introduce myself to them. I then spend the lesson discussing how they like to learn and familiarize myself with a style that will best suit them. This ranges from visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning. The following lessons are then all taught to the students specialized style.
I can help with assignment and exam preparation for high school Politics & Law subjects in every state. I can answer specific questions via email, and for more involved 'lessons' we can use live chat.
I am an energetic and thorough teacher who structures lessons around quizzes, interactive games and activities and reviewing students' own work as well as answering any questions they have. I am flexible and ready to help people regardless of ability and experience.
My teaching methodology is tailored to the student and what they want to achieve. First and foremost though is instilling an interest in the subject to help build motivation. Rather than wrote learning facts I would then introduce strategies to gather and retain information.
I prescribe to multiple methodologies. Firstly, I conduct a learning needs analysis on all students to determine curriculum entry point followed by one or more of the following: Lecture/classroom delivery; Tutorials; Task/project demonstration; and Role plays. I incorporate: formative and summative assessment; The Principles of Assessment; and The Rules of Evidence.
I try to teach my students independent thinking in the subjects I teach, rather than inundating them with loads of information. To achieve this, I encourage them to participate in the classes and be brave and express their views eloquently.
I am quite flexible when it comes to teaching. I can go over historic topics like a story which would usually make the class interesting. I will have a power point presentation which will be provided, so the student can recall the contents of the class.
My teaching method is interactive lecture type. I find it important to particularly guide first year law students in adopting to the law school culture and becoming effective without tiring their self out. Depending on the individuals student's interest, teaching methods may change to fit purpose.
My lessons are geared towards high school students or undergraduates. I will help you excel in geogrtaphy, history, politics and economics. My lessons take the form of a discussion, then practical work on a problem or tricky issue rounded out by a summary of what we have learnt. My only requirement from you is an open mind.
My teaching methodology is a student centred approach based on nurturing higher order thinking skills to stimulate debate, discussions and critical questions and answers. I have worked with disengaged students who are working their way back into education and I have also worked with more advanced students.
I have two systems to teach: First one is focused on the school material already in use by the student, in order to enhance the contents and better prepare them for tests. The second is based on tailor made classes/themes, focused on long-term learning and connected (or not) with the school contents. It is usually multidisciplinary and discussed with the student prior to the class.
Tutoring is for VCE 20th Century History - I love conversation and discussion, and love to teach engaged and passionate students who strive to learn. My tutoring will suit talkative and extroverted students. I am very in depth with my knowledge of 20th century history and I am sure a student looking to know the century inside out will benefit greatly.
My teaching methods revolve around presenting a topic in the most simple yet informative way possible. This implies giving and pointing out the most important points to be noted in a topic. Figuring out the students learning perspective is also vital so that i know how to approach the topics with each individual.
My educational background and areas of interest are most suited to assisting high school or tertiary level students. However, I enjoy teaching and mentoring learners of all ages and in all stages of education. I believe that sound pedagogy begins with patience, empathy and communication. The key to success lies in being student focused.
My methodology is quite flexible and is based on your needs as a student. I understand that everyone has different ways and speeds of learning and this is something that I have acknowledged in the past in tutoring. My lessons are geared towards students who are struggling in history or are doing well and want that extra boost to their final mark.
I have a 'hands on' approach. This engages the student and keeps interest in the subject at a high level....there would be nothing worse than tutoring a disengaged student!! Use of visuals and different teaching methods also makes all tutoring sessions enjoyable, interesting....
I view the tutoring relationship as primarily one of mentoring, a partnership of equals with the mutual goal of improving the student's overall academic ability as well as their ability to perform well on assessment. All students are different and I am committed to ensuring all students are capable of learning within an environment that suits their needs and learning style.
