I tailor my classes to the curriculum of every individual student, working on the key skills and constantly referring to the rubric and criteria.
I have always been convinced on the benefits of both problem-based learning or any other method which works on the analytical skills of the students rather than the mere passing of information. This is why I prefer to engage with students in a conversation more than proper lecturing.
2 year experience working as a private tutor. I have also worked as a professional marker, editor, and proof-reader for a variety of companies. I have worked at a number of schools in Melbourne, and am experienced in interacting with a broad range of age groups. I am 19 years of age.
My approach is rigorous but empathetic and based on over five years of experience, most recently with Carfax Education in Russia, Dubai and London. I am especially good with shy students and, as a reformed slacker myself, with those who need a little extra motivation.
I focus on understanding the material taught - the methods I use help students realise and retain knowledge learnt in school so they may apply it in other areas of their life. The content imposed upon students in school is very heavy and can be extremely dull - I break down these chunks of material into smaller, easier-to-comprehend situations that are applicable in real life.
When I’m not delving into the learning rabbit hole, you can find me trying not to get my back taken in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, absorbing as much knowledge as possible through podcasts and reading and eating copious amounts of Vietnamese pho noodle soup.
I believe the easiest way to understand something is to develop a passion for it. Therefor it is my job to make the content you need to learn something you're also interested in and at the very least something you can relate to.
My teaching method is based on the student. I focus on the areas the students are struggling with whilst also expanding their knowledge on areas they have interest in. The lesson plans would be catered to what the individual student wanted to achieve.
Hello, My name is Etienne and I'm a 23 year old student of International Studies at RMIT. I am currently in the final semester of the degree and will be graduating this Winter. I chose to study International Studies as a result of my passion for all things related to international affairs and relations, as well as my international upbringing.
I have recently graduated from a Masters of Teaching and am interested in sharing my skills and experience. I cater my lessons to the student using fun and creative activities! I asses the current skills of each student and identify areas of improvement. I believe that all students are capable of excellence.
Tutoring is for VCE 20th Century History - I love conversation and discussion, and love to teach engaged and passionate students who strive to learn. My tutoring will suit talkative and extroverted students. I am very in depth with my knowledge of 20th century history and I am sure a student looking to know the century inside out will benefit greatly.
