I try to utilise a guided discovery teaching approach when structuring my lessons. With this approach, I am able to provide my students with basic content or information pertaining to the topic at hand, however, it is up to them to interpret and form their own understanding or conclusions. I will continually support students through this process, but the emphasis is on the student.
I approach tutoring by taking my students seriously and not treating them as just kids. Lessons are tailored to the students needs and interests, and will involve a variety of mediums, both practical and intellectual, via hands-on, discussion-based, written, creative, etc, anything which will best assist them.
My teaching methodology is focused around the idea that learning is constructed through experience, and that effective learning requires understanding. This means that the learner needs to be actively engaged in the process of making sense of information.
I begin by making sure that the student understands the basics. These are important and without them you struggle with the entire subject. Once we have the basics down I do a quick test to find the weak areas and strong areas so that we can focus on the weaker areas. I use a variety of examples to make sure that the student understands the concepts.
I believe that learning is different for every person, and understand that many teachers don't have the time that is necessary to cater to all kid needs in the classroom. I will be able to explain the fundamental processes and concepts in many subject areas which make being able to complete problem solving tasks actually manageable, not just providing a vague understanding of the subject.
I enjoy understanding student needs and working closely with them on the problems they face academically. I use a needs-based approach to ensure that the student receives support and help where it is needed most. Lastly, I am engaging and readily motivate my students to do their best.
My goal is helping students to learn the content taught at school and focus on the areas which they struggle with the most to ensure they build a strong base for the years ahead. I will be assisting with homework and provide additional worksheets and homework for them to complete.

ABOUT ME - I am a female who just finished her HSC in 2017.
The tutoring sessions I provide are focused on essay and narrative writing, exam revision and assistance with editing written pieces. A typical lesson may involve analysing a past essay exam question, developing a thesis and designing an essay plan. This can be followed by identifying key language techniques in a text and discussion of their effects.
I base my classes on the work provided as school, particularly with assessment tasks. I am able to assist in theoretical and practical sections of art and design, and am flexible in my hours. I believe in supporting learning and individual development, rather than providing all the answers.
The way I approach teaching my students is acknowledging that everyone comes from a different walk in life, and thus not all methods will work for all students. I will typically sit down with a student and discuss their goals, then set out a clear plan with them as to how that goal may be achieved. I have found this to be highly effective.
I have tutored extensively across university and high school for various grades covering mathematics, economics, finance and business studies for the past 10 years. This tutoring covers classroom, online and private tuition across high school, university, selective school preparation and OC placement.
Tutoring Primary to High School students in Maths and English! I base classes on Australian curriculum textbooks. I also write my own work for students to help with student's weaknesses. I closely follow their school's curriculum so that we will learn the topics ahead of school. A typical lesson would include book work, worksheets, help with any difficult school homework/assignments.
My teaching method is positive reinforcement and collaborative thoughtful work. I believe students learn in a positive enviorment and enjoy collaborating and talking when they are doing activities. They are more active and engaged when they are reinforcements with positive energy.
My teaching method is geared towards the individual student - after the initial introductions, I find out what the student is struggling with, whether it be academic subjects, such as English or Maths, or even foundational knowledge, such as study skills, and begin targeting those problem subjects by providing further explanations of concepts and step-by-step instructions on how to tackle the work.
I did BSc in 1979 and then did BEd. After this I did Masters of Science and then in 1988 I completed my PhD degree. I first assess the student and accordingly make the plan. I use different methods of teaching according to the need of the student.
I am an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is dedicated to seeing students achieve their full potential. Lessons are catered to the students needs, but could include goal setting, drafting and proofreading, and organising a plan to engage with future homework and assignments.
