I have 11 years experience tutoring students from High school, TAFE, 1st year university and adult bridging courses. I have achieved a double major degree in chemistry and biology, with a minor in mathematics. In order to get the best results from my students, I tailor my lessons to suit their needs.

I am a supportive, encouraging and patient young man. My ideal students would either be attending Y11/12 or in AEP (Academical Extension) in Y10 looking to get ahead in the years that count. My teaching structure would be to cover the theory of relevant content, provide examples for my student and then ask them to apply the same methodology to complete set questions.
I try to utilise a guided discovery teaching approach when structuring my lessons. With this approach, I am able to provide my students with basic content or information pertaining to the topic at hand, however, it is up to them to interpret and form their own understanding or conclusions. I will continually support students through this process, but the emphasis is on the student.

I am currently studying at UQ in the Master of Commerce program with specialization in professional accounting. If the subject does not have a laid out lesson plan, I will see which aspect of the subject the kid is weak at, and focus on strengthening them at that area.

As a university student who is currently majoring Law with Honours, I aim to help and guide students who have trouble finding the motivation to study, memorize or even seek help from relevant teaching staff to clarify their doubts.
I encourage students to take the lead when opening a session. The topic for a session will normally be dictated by where students are at in terms of their knowledge level and university requirements. If all students participate it makes for interesting and focused discussions. I act as a facilitator but am able to have input where knowledge may be lacking.
My teaching methodology is personalised to each student’s needs but overall it is that effective teaching is engaging teaching. For students to want to learn, the way they are taught must be less of a “teach by the book” method and more of an invitation to learn.
