I have 11 years experience tutoring students from High school, TAFE, 1st year university and adult bridging courses. I have achieved a double major degree in chemistry and biology, with a minor in mathematics. In order to get the best results from my students, I tailor my lessons to suit their needs.
There is no one particular teaching 'style'. A great teacher can teach each student individually, whilst educating the whole class at the same time. Teaching is not simply 'standing in front of a classroom'. It is much more than that. Teaching or to be a great teacher is to build trusting, professional and friendly relationships with students of all cultures and backgrounds. This is Australia.
After diagnosis of main issues ,I then design a program for your child to help them achieve the best of which they are capable. I believe in developing a positive Growth Mindset and developing the confidence for academic risk taking.
I am a flexible tutor and like to cater my tutoring to the needs of the student. I would be happy to work through the class content, coursework and homework with the students, whilst answering any specific questions they might have.
I approach the topic by checking the previous knowledge of the child and then finishing it by using practical activities
I am a supportive, encouraging and patient young man. My ideal students would either be attending Y11/12 or in AEP (Academical Extension) in Y10 looking to get ahead in the years that count. My teaching structure would be to cover the theory of relevant content, provide examples for my student and then ask them to apply the same methodology to complete set questions.
I try to utilise a guided discovery teaching approach when structuring my lessons. With this approach, I am able to provide my students with basic content or information pertaining to the topic at hand, however, it is up to them to interpret and form their own understanding or conclusions. I will continually support students through this process, but the emphasis is on the student.
My teaching method will consist of an initial check of what you will need help with then from there we will work out a structure to get you going.
I am currently studying at UQ in the Master of Commerce program with specialization in professional accounting. Through out my academic journey I have always shown great enthusiasm and results as the end defines all. I have assisted junior level school students to university students from with subjects from maths,English, physics, chemistry to accounting and financial analysis.
Due to my current university studies, I have an extensive portfolio of tips and tricks to facilitate engaging ways of improving student learning. My subject strengths lie in Maths and English up to a Year 8 level. I firmly believe in adjusting experiences to suit the learning style of the child to ensure successful knowledge transmission.
Understanding the concept of Individual differences is the core of tutoring. So being flexible, I try my best to make the student understand the topic and try to design my lessons as per the individual needs of the students. My students have shown great improvements.
I approach each subject differently, depending on the requirements. If the subject has a laid out lesson plan, I will teach according to with topic they are learning in school. If the subject does not have a laid out lesson plan, I will see which aspect of the subject the kid is weak at, and focus on strengthening them at that area.
I have a deep passion for making real differences in the lives of my students and their learning journey through laser-focused instruction, my watchful eye and customised expertise to benefit students directly and witness their sparks of comprehension; equipping them with critical study skills to become independent lovers of learning.
I work hard to be an ideal tutor. An ideal tutor is personable and accommodating. They are able to recognise a student's ideal learning style and deliver the learning content effectively. They will speak and explain concepts clearly and believe that there are no "stupid questions", as all questions are used to increase learning.
Will start by looking at your work and discussing what you need. There's no point in teaching you things that you're already good at.
I approach tutoring by taking my students seriously and not treating them as just kids. Lessons are tailored to the students needs and interests, and will involve a variety of mediums, both practical and intellectual, via hands-on, discussion-based, written, creative, etc, anything which will best assist them.
I work with students to assist them in reflecting on their strengths and weaknesses and then focus on the areas that need improvement. I'm not the teacher that will just give you the answer but I will help you to ask the right questions and then find the answer.
As a university student who is currently majoring Law with Honours, I aim to help and guide students who have trouble finding the motivation to study, memorize or even seek help from relevant teaching staff to clarify their doubts.
I encourage students to take the lead when opening a session. The topic for a session will normally be dictated by where students are at in terms of their knowledge level and university requirements. If all students participate it makes for interesting and focused discussions. I act as a facilitator but am able to have input where knowledge may be lacking.
My teaching methodology is personalised to each student’s needs but overall it is that effective teaching is engaging teaching. For students to want to learn, the way they are taught must be less of a “teach by the book” method and more of an invitation to learn.
My teaching style is practical yet open-minded. I am flexible in terms of others learning styles. Structured in an informal setting (can be formal) with the approach of incremental stages towards sustainable and achievable outcomes.
I use mostly interactive with students who are poor and leess confident in subject. I believe in practical method of the subject.
My teaching methods will be understanding your abilities and be knowing your likes and dislike in particular subject and proceeding with the topic you like most.
I believe that academic concepts are best learned when they are contextualised to suit individual needs and will aim to present knowledge in such a way that is suited to the student and their learning needs/preferences.
My lesson plans will be geared towards the particular student in order to help them in the topic they need help with. My rule is to first get to know the student so that they feel comfortable learning with me and are willing to be honest about what they can and can't do.
Hello! My name is Zoe Knight and I am a recent graduate of a Bachelor of International Relations and I am currently undertaking my Honours at the ANU. Having been raised in many countries around the world - Portugal, China, UAE and Australia - I have a solid understanding of various teaching methods which I believe works to my advantage when tutoring.
My teaching strategy is based on "Evidence Teaching Strategies which encompasses a variety of variants such as "Clear Lesson Goals", "Show and Tell", "Questioning for Checking for Understanding", "Summarise New Learning In a Graphical Way", "Plenty Of Practice", "Provide your Students With Feedback", "Be Flexible On How Long It Takes To Learn", If in a group, "Get Students Working Together",...
My teaching method is to find the points of struggle within a group or of an individual and focus on teaching the main foundation that was not understood so that the further development of their knowledge in the subject is possible. I keep my students engaged with different study methods and approaches to the subject so that they can find a way to fully understand the subject.
Lessons are tailored based on the needs and interests of the student/client in question. I utilise a hybrid method for teaching, based on my consultant, coaching and social research background, as well as helping uni friends with their studies throughout my undergraduate degree.
