I focus on understanding the material taught - the methods I use help students realise and retain knowledge learnt in school so they may apply it in other areas of their life. The content imposed upon students in school is very heavy and can be extremely dull - I break down these chunks of material into smaller, easier-to-comprehend situations that are applicable in real life. By making content more relevant to students, they are able to understand what they have to learn better, and can progress further.
I tutored for 6 months after graduating from high school and coming to university. I helped several students who struggled to concentrate and focus on their work improve their grades by several grade boundaries, and all of them have grown to enjoy and value the subjects taught.
- I am in the 2nd year of my Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Melbourne (I major in Politics and International Studies and minor in Development Studies), and achieve good grades for assignments submitted.
- I achieved outstanding grades for my Geography papers in my A-Level examinations (VCE/HSC/IB equivalent).
- I am very well-travelled and have lived in several different countries and so am very aware of past and current global politics and international affairs.
