Methodology

My teaching methodology includes lectures & discussions, audiovisuals & powerpoint presentation and reading for comprehension by students. Structure of the classes comprises reading comprehension by students, discussions, and feedbacks. of My classes are open to students of high school, 12th standard, and graduation.

Background

I am an Environmental Professional with over 12 years of practical ground experiences in biodiversity conservation, forestry & water management etc. Also worked as a consultant on Climate Change to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. I possess two Masters Degree; on Environmental Policy and Planning from the University of Michigan and another on Botany with specialization on ecology.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES
1. Consultant - Climate Change, GIZ India, (Based at MoEFCC), Jan 2018 – April 2018.
Major job responsibilities:
i) Assist in policy analysis on climate change issues.
ii) Prepare briefs, information notes and summary reports for use by Government officials.
iii) Provide substantive inputs in preparing India's position on various climate change issues at international climate change negotiations.
iv) Any other related task assign by the supervisor.
2. Project Officer - Climate Change Adaptation, UNDP India (Based at MoEFCC), 10th July 2013 - 31st Dec 2017.
Major job responsibilities:
i) Assists in policy analysis & development, including review and analysis of emerging issues on climate change relevant to the country.
ii) Lead the planning of long-term strategic action plans on climate change and other programmes & projects i.e. India’s Nationally Determined Contribution, State Action Plans on Climate Change, and Annual Work Plan of Climate Change Action Programme.
iii) Provide substantive support in the preparation of roadmap for implementation of climate change programmes & projects in the country; assist in its periodic monitoring & evaluations; analysis & identify issues and provide corrective measures for follow up actions.
iv) Assist in monitoring the implementation of the various National Missions under India's National Action Plan on Climate Change and its periodic evaluation and review under the Prime Minister's Council on Climate Change for identifying problems and address issues for effective implementation.
v) Identify & prioritize key research areas to address knowledge gaps on various environmental issues including Climate Change, Forestry and water etc.
vi) Coordinate and provide substantive technical inputs in the implementation of scientific researches studies under the Climate Change Action Programme, review and analyze its progress, suggest corrective actions and ensures follow up actions.
vii) Assist in designing methodologies for data collection; conducting surveys; analyze & interpret and drawing conclusions.

3. Programme Officer - Climate Change and Livelihood, AFPRO, 1st Jan 2013 – 30th June 2013
Major job responsibilities:
i) Coordination with all the regional offices and support in project planning, implementation and monitoring & evaluation etc.
ii) Compile & analyze substantive documents i.e. correspondences, reports, proposals etc, received by the Ministry and provide concise briefing notes to the Divisional Head, MoEFCC.
iii) Assess and review technical and environmental viability of scientific project proposals prepared by the organization for funding from various sources.
iv) Support in implementing various projects in the country; assist in its periodic monitoring & evaluations; analysis & identify issues and provide corrective measures for follow up actions.
v) Build network with key government departments, institutions and private sector and represent the organization in various meetings.
vi) Writing project proposals on various thematic areas; identify and approach donors for funding.
vii) Exploring new funding opportunities from Government and private sectors.

4. Sr. Programme Officer, Institute for Integrated Rural Development, Shimla, H.P. August 2011– Dec 2012
Major job responsibilities:
