The first step to creating an account on this new network is heading to the website. From there, you can create a personal or professional account.

Type a word into the search and wait for Pinterest to generate a whole heap of photos and images that other users have contributed to the network. That’s how you find the content you like.
When you find something you like, you can pin it by clicking the pin icon. You’ll have six choices of what to do:
Once you’ve pinned an image, it’ll appear in your boards, the photo albums where you can see saved images. You need to create a board first, give it a title, and decide whether it’s public or not.
In the Pins tab, you’ll find the images that you’ve saved from Pinterest. These are personal images.
You can also add a Pin It button to your web browser so that you can quickly pin or repin content to your pinboard even when you’re not on the website itself.
While you can create boards from other users’ photos and images, you can also add your own photos and images.

After creating a board, you just have to click on the “Add a Pin” button which will allow you to add an image from a site or your computer. For your own images, choose the destination from your computer and then confirm. For images online, you’ll need the image’s URL.
You’ll be able to add a description before you pin it. Well done! You’ve just added your first pin to a board! This will be shared amongst users with the same interests as you. Make sure you add keywords to ensure that other people see it.
You’ll end up pinning a lot of photos on Pinterest because there are tonnes of things to see: inspiration for weddings, decorating your house, garden, painting, arts and crafts, etc.

It’s a great platform for startups doing artisanal products. Since Pinterest is quite different to other types of social networking, so are Pinterest users and the kind of things shared through the Pinterest app or website is quite different to other social media sites like Facebook or Twitter.
