My goal with tutoring is not just to help my students solve problems they may be stuck on but also on how to understand them and how to approach them. I would not just focus on how to solve problems but how to study effectively, how to prepare for an exam and how to understand the intricacies of writing a report. I believe that to be successful in physics it requires more than an understanding of the science and mathematics but also on the ability to communicate it.
I am a science student at the University of South Australia in my first year of this degree, however, I completed a year of Mechanical Engineering before switching due to a change of interests. Upon completion of my Bachelor of Science, I hope to obtain a Masters in teaching and teach physics to high school students. Whilst I have never officially tutored anyone before I do have much experience in assisting friends, fellow students and siblings understand and pass various levels of physics.
If a student has to cancel for whatever reason it is preferable that they do so at least 6 hours before the scheduled time.
I completed year 12 in 2016 with an ATAR of 82 in which I studied Physics, Mathematical Studies, English Communications, and Biology in which I excelled in Physics and English. I studied Mechanical Engineering for a year and am now in the process of completing my Bachelor of Science, majoring in Physics with aspirations to finish with a Masters in teaching.
Matthew is an extremely patient, adept, understanding person who can express ideas, concepts and relay critical criticism in a positive manner that will leave clarity and peace of mind. His persistence and caring nature motivates to not give up. Throughout my university degree, Matthew has offered amazing helpful advice in which he is able to guide you through problems in a way that is easy to comprehend. I highly recommend Matthew as a tutor for anyone needing any type of assistance for physics or maths.
Having spent all of my high school years in similar science and math classes as Matthew, I know him to be a diligent and productive student. He always offered his help with anything school related and was a great study partner. His patience and ability to understand problems always proved to be beneficial, and his way of explaining difficult concepts or solutions in a new way aided my own learning immensely.
During Yr 12, I was fortunate enough to study Physics with Matthew. If ever I was struggling throughout the year, he would take time out of his day to cover the concepts with me and ensure I left with a solid understanding of what we'd gone through. He is a hard working and sociable person, which made it incredibly easy to work with him. During exam time, I chose to study with Matthew as his patience and determination to succeed drove me to try my hardest.
