I always start the class by questioning to check student's prior knowledge and understanding about the topic. I use "show and tell" strategy to tell the students why they are learning the topic or what is the real-life application of the topic. I clear the lesson goal at the beginning so the student's know what is expected from them at the end of the class. I teach different strategies not only the content. Every student is different. Allowing them to choose their own strategy to help them to grow metacognitively. I allow different students different learning and practice time based on their ability. I always give feedback right after the lesson to tell how the students performed in that particular lesson and how they can improve their performance.
