My approach is tailored to the student’s needs. Depending on the student, I create materials for them to engage with grammar and practice based on speaking, writing, reading, and listening (in a variety of accents, not only mine). Normally, I use videos, boardgames, working sheets, and units from learning books (including those I wrote). Some people prefer to focus on grammar and repeating patterns, whereas others feel more comfortable mixing grammar and games to practice. I am prepared for any situation and happy to create a lesson according to your wishes and needs.
I have six years of experience working in educational projects for NGOs, universities, and private companies, as both a teacher (History & Spanish) and a journalist. I strongly believe this combination of experiences complement each other. I consider myself a friendly, can-do attitude, pedagogical person who enjoys working with people.
I have recently re-joined the Vocational Language Learning Centre and I am also part of the Language Trainers Group. I feel comfortable creating programs, working material, activities, and assessments. I developed the concept, content, and the instructional design of the three language books for Universidad Católica del Norte in Chile.
I finished my master’s at Melbourne Uni and currently I am studying the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Happy to provide group lessons for a fixed fee, and also packages if you wish for more than 2 hours per week.
