My teaching method is to initially converse with the student to ascertain their skills level, determine what goals they may have in a relevant professional sphere, or associated role, and then begin with single topic discussions to eventually build a 'library' of structured information which can then be applied e.g. in answering exam questions, development of theses and developing problem solving techniques.
As a postgraduate student, I tutored and lectured at the University of Queensland (MSc) and Griffith Uni. in medical zoology, parasitology, invertebrate systematics, ecology & biometry in the years 1979 - 1987. As an executive scientist with the Qld. government I co-supervised masters students and one PhD. In industry, I mentored several young scientists as a senior consulting scientist, before starting a professional phase in Indonesia as a group leader in fisheries conservation.
Tertiary students lecturing/tutoring would be at university rates for casual appointments at $64/hour.
