I always try to start the lessons by analyzing what the student already knows and what is needed to accomplish the level wanted. This takes only 5 or 10 minutes. Next, I explain the theoretical concepts and give some practical examples to make everything easier to understand. Finally, it is very important to be sure that the student has understood the whole lesson by doing exercises.
I don't have an exact method and the lessons organisation can vary for each person as we all learn by different ways.
I have been giving review lessons for four years now, always to high-school students, but don't mind to teach more complicated subjects related to science and technology.
I have had very different students, from people that only needed a small push to pass a specific exam to people that needed a very basic teaching to further reach the more complex concepts that they were studying at that moment.
In both cases, we have always achieved good results and my students have been satisfied with my teaching method.
