I am a motivated, energetic university student who is passionate about mathematics! As someone who struggled with maths in primary and high school, I love finding ways to talk about/teach maths that make the subject exciting and interesting for individual students (rather than the classic lectures style used in a school setting). I have always loved working and spending time with young children as well as young adults. I am confident teaching arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, geometry and calculus to students in primary school and high school.
Through my home institution, Boston College, I volunteer as a mentor for the institution Science Club for Girls where I work with girls aged 6-12 at an after-school program. The mission of SCFG is to foster excitement, confidence and literacy in STEM for girls from underrepresented communities by providing free, experiential programs and maximizing experiences with role models in STEM fields.
I am also on the Executive Board for Boston College's Women in STEM program which aims to bring attention to the gender gap for women in STEM fields and work towards a more inclusive future for girls/women who choose to pursue degrees/occupations in STEM.
