My teaching method is based on the principle of the natural enjoyment of curiosity and learning. Any topic may be the starting point for insight and a deeper appreciation of the relatedness of phenomena. Our language is the way we interact with our own intellectual growth.
Strictly no first language spoken during sessions, homework given and fluency is focused over accuracy to build confidence, accuracy comes with practise, but confidence needs to be developed from the beginning. Interactive lessons, with activities and multimedia resources used.
My method is a two-way collaboration. I assess your learning needs and grow from there. I’m effective, professional, friendly and approachable. I am not strict, but can guarantee that your English will improve effectively. I also like to make your learning experience with me fun and enjoyable.
My expertise lies in preparing lesson plans, exercises, games, assessments and curricula. I personally love learning and teaching languages as it opens new paths to better knowledge and understanding of different cultures and universality. I provide all material and assessment. I structure lessons according to the linguistic needs of the student.
I do not have one individual teaching methodology - instead I provide STUDENT- centred learning - adapting my style and the content of lessons to each individual's needs and preferences.
I like student centered learning and communicative approaches . I feel it is essential to practice speaking skills. I like to integrate as many of the 4 - reading , writing , speaking and grammar skills as possible into my lessons.
My teaching method is unique in its style as I try to combine each aspect of the language and develop a plain knowledge in students.
My teaching method is very student centred. Depending on the student/s goal for the lessons the session may be more task based or more dialogue and conversation focussed. My lessons are geared towards those who already have a base in English (even if just a small amount) and are looking to expand their level towards an exam grade.
I use a variety of sources to help students learn. I develop my own educational resources to tailor the content to varying levels of abilities. I use the International Phonetics Alphabet to explain accurate pronunciation. I have been studying articulatory phonetics and I teach students how to pronounce sounds like native speakers. I explain grammar and make sure students have plenty of practice.
My teaching is specifically tailored to each students’ needs. I am not a robot. I understand everyone’s specific learning needs and lessons will be paced accordingly. I have a strong emphasis in reflection, which involves the revisiting of content learnt in previous lessons in order to remember the important points.
My teaching methodology is geared towards each individuals learning style and skill level. I embody the philosophy that learning should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, yet I structure disciplined lessons that will improve one's study habits and work efficiency.
I believe that every student can tremendously improve in whatever they are trying to learn given enough meticulous and precise guidance. I try to target the student's general weaknesses in the subject in order to achieve as much improvement as possible. My design of the lesson structure will thus also be wholly catered to the particular student as well.
I try to teach English in the most interactive way, making good use of technology, music, films, books, even games.
I usually try to develop an understanding of what my students require and then structure my lesson plan accordingly. I am a great communicator and try to build rapport with my students to empathize with their requirements so that I can encourage their growth and development in each step of the way.
I believe in facilitating classes, with learning being focused on active student participation and engagement. Instead of rote learning, students are actively challenged to reach their own conclusions with questions, discussions and corrections. I also incorporate much application of the language in daily life through engaging anecdotes / stories and relevant examples.
I have been working independently as a private tutor for High School students since 2011. I assess each student individually, and then cater the lessons to their specific requirements. We focus on assessments, reviews according to unit outline, developing strong essays through textual analysis, and exam techniques that consistently achieve Band 6 results.
I conduct classes in the form of group discussions and approach one specific aspect of writing per class, around which a weekly exercise is based. For example, during the week of studying character, we shall be reading certain character centric works, looking at how the writer develops characterization and then diving into a group feedback based exercise about character and its uses in writing.
I base my teaching on ensuring that the student understands the concept fully before moving onto advanced/difficult problems. I believe that true understanding begins from the habit of repeated reviewing of one's work; therefore constant effort is required to produce an outstanding yet consistent work.
My approach to teaching is to tailor classes to the students needs, build student's confidence and help them achieve their goals.
For all students, I give a discounted first lesson. I usually go through with them their goals & expectations and develop a study plan that will be the most effective. I do my best to facilitate independent learning, a desire for learning and developing good study habits which is important for life-long success in all aspects of life.
I specialise in the formal structure of essay writing, as well as grammar and vocabulary.
My teaching style is interactive and, I hope, interesting and fun. I am to make the student/s feel relaxed and confident, and not scared to make mistakes. This said, my methodology changes with whom I am teaching.
My teaching method involves several stimulating activities that will encourage students to excel in all areas of the English language. Reading, writing, listening, and responding will all be areas of focus, targeted through a range of activities depending on the students interest.
In my lessons you will find different ways of approaching the language, from short stories to songs and movies. I will always try to find topics and activities related to my students' interest, so as to encourage them to express theirselves as much as possible.
I have alot of experience teaching English. If you especially want to improve your speaking, listening and vocabulary, I can tailor exercises to this end. A lesson would start with a warm-up activity, followed by an intro to the target language, some exercises on he target language, followed by an activity to reinforce the target language.
My teaching method is completely student centred. I am very flexible in my approach to student needs. My lessons are geared towards encouraging a deep understanding of the English language. I believe in recapping on student knowledge at the beginning of the lesson, introducing new concepts in an interesting way in the middle of the lesson, and summarising at the end of the lesson.
My teaching methodology is developing a positive relationship with my students .seeing their strengths and weaknesses/helping them to improve. I try to model skills at the beginning of a lesson, then jointconstruction and then aid the student attaining those skills.
My teaching methods are based on traditional methods and my own methods (which I have developed and utilised over the last 30 years). I use newspaper articles, short stories, songs and other media to teach my classes and my students always walk out of my classes more knowledgable.
From Hong Kong, lived in Korea and Japan and now Sydney; well-versed in helping out with students who speak English as a second language!
I use kinesthetic methods and activities to stimulate the students to learn English better by experiencing how English elements and alike are applied in real life. I believe students are creative and skillful in their own ways, and it is my job to teach them to express themselves in English in various ways.
