Since retiring from my position as a university lecturer I am now offering private lessons to violin students at all levels in classical and folk styles, including the AMEB exam syllabus. Learning and refining skills and knowledge is most satisfying and rapid when we are fully engaged in the learning process.

My teaching method is different for each student as everybody learns differently. I like to try and incorporate interactive methods such as games as well as using engaging real life examples for the applications of the knowledge. I will not just 'do' the work for the student, I want to make sure they really understand it.
I focus first on creating a beautiful sound and learning to listen. I am very technically orientated but I promise you will be having fun while you learn! I specialize in students who are resistant to practice or have had poor experiences elsewhere - my students love to play and love hearing themselves improve!
