My teaching method changes depending on the student and their goals whilst also making it as fun as possible. Violin is such a diverse area of music that it is normal to have different goals that are not classically oriented.
I focus first on creating a beautiful sound and learning to listen. I am very technically orientated but I promise you will be having fun while you learn! I specialize in students who are resistant to practice or have had poor experiences elsewhere - my students love to play and love hearing themselves improve! I am happy to prepare for AMEB exams is requested. I also teach music theory and piano.

Since retiring from my position as a university lecturer I am now offering private lessons to violin students at all levels in classical and folk styles, including the AMEB exam syllabus.
