I am an experienced researcher, research higher degree supervisor and mentor to early career researchers with extensive knowledge of theoretical and methodological aspects of research. I support students in identifying and describing the overall narrative and logic of their research: the research problem, theoretical approaches, research design and methods, findings and discussion.
My teaching method is to make students feel comfortable with new content and ensure they get the most out of the university experience. Gaining genuine understanding of new theories and course content is the secret to writing great essays and assignments.
I teach two different types of students, ones who are really struggling through geography and looking 25-30 study scores and ones who are aiming for 45+. I take two different approaches with each type of student.
I approach this topic by allowing students to develop a plan of how to get to the end result and I help guide them to the best outcome. This prepares them for working where they will not have everything mapped out for them in advance.
I tailor my approach to teaching for each student based on their individual needs. I aim to personalise my style based on your (or your child's) learning style and goals.
My teaching method was to collaborate with students and having a postivie atmosphere that all could learn from each other
I base my classes on past experience and knowing what teachers look for. We will focus on real world examples that help students to remember content and also be able to apply their knowledge. I will build on the students knowledge and find creative ways for them to learn the content.
I am a very hands-on interactive person and I learn how I teach. I cannot stand being lectured to for an hour and I don't teach this way. I much prefer to have questions asked, pose my own questions, and if applicable explore topics we both may be unfamiliar with to blend the teacher-student dynamic into a collaborative learning environment.
My teaching is specifically tailored to each students’ needs. I am not a robot. I understand everyone’s specific learning needs and lessons will be paced accordingly. I have a strong emphasis in reflection, which involves the revisiting of content learnt in previous lessons in order to remember the important points.
I base my teaching methods on cartographic supports to help the purpose visually. The goal is to help the student pedagogically by making a subject, not always easy to understand, fun and enjoyable. Classes and materials are aimed at middle and high school students.
Having been a Scout leader for many years, I base my methodology in a pedagogical way by adapting myself to the needs of the student and his requests as well as those of his teachers. Because of my multidisciplinary school I think I can easily adapt to all types of methodologies according to the subjects taught.
