My aim for every lessons is to teach my students to love the water and how to be safe as they learn to swim. I strive to take the fear out of the water and give my students the tools needed to be safe and to have fun.
I have experience with teaching introductory learn-to-swim level swimmers with no prior swimming ability or experience and focus on basic stroke development and water safety. I also have experience with coaching competitive squad or pre-squad level swimmers, with a focus on technique perfection and race skills and strategies.
My teaching method would be to make everyone feel included and comfortable in a swimming lesson as it can often be a new and stressful experience, especially for younger children. I know that everybody has different skills and experience so I think that tailoring a lesson to suit every child's individual skills is very important.
My career as an elite swimmer and national swimming coach ensures I can pass down my knowledge on the best technique, training methods and insight into improving all aspects of swimming to anyone willing to learn.
I adapt my teaching method to my public, their goals and the environment. I propose a various range of exercises and tips to make you improve.
Learn how to swim with pleasure, games and safety is my priority.
My teaching methodology is praise and reward and to be kind and encouraging to all my pupils
I am a young, knowledgable and easy to get along with teacher, who has worked in many environments with lots of different people. I have many different progressions for all strokes and I firmly believe that anyone can learn to swim no matter the person.
I teach in easy and friendly method until the student is thorough with the lesson. I am sure I will be able deliver the lessons nicely and clearly. Im really interested in teaching and sharing ideas with people around .
I lesson plan for a class as a whole, but understand each of my students needs and how to individually engage them in a professional but fun way. I enjoy being creative and implementing a variety of activities into my classes to encourage skill development.
The way i teach kids is a little different in every level. For the levels 1s and 2s are the real basics of swimming, i add in a lot of fun games to give them confidence in the water. Level 3s - 5s are more getting into the strokes and a start with their kick, then arms then putting the whole stroke together. Then level 6 and over are mainly technique based levels.
repetition drills with kickboard, without the kickboard, correcting swim techniques until swim stroke is correct. Games for kids to get sinking toys at bottom of pool. Land skills or pool edge drills and in pool drills to practice swim stroke.
I teach my students on a case by case basis, and understand what works for some students will not work for all. I try my very best to ensure the best outcome for the people I coach while at the same time getting enjoyment out of swimming. When I coach, you are my sole focus.
I like taking an approach that is specific and dependant on each child meaning some lessons may be structured to the parents/guardians' judgement/desire, the child's immediate interest and my best judgement.
Every child has a different way of learning and its about working out the best way to teach each particular child. Learning to swim can not be rushed especially with children who may not enjoy being in the water. Patience is the answer, teach the skills but reward them with fun afterwards to keep their attention.
