Well that depends on what I teach and to whom. However I like to have fun while we learn. Keeping it hands on (or feet) is key in learning skateboarding. Also I like to personalise the classes depending on how someone learns and keep it fresh.

1st finding the confidence level of individual, there swimming capacity in the ocean, if they have tryed to stand up before. They will be introduced to ocean when the water is calm ,so they can learn to paddle a surfboard and balance on it correctly, with gradually learning the techniques of paddling for a wave catching it then standing up.
I base my classed of my certification from ISA, International Surf Association, which I completed in Biarritz, France. I look at surfing as a fun hobby and encourage a fun and relaxed session in the water.
My teaching method is by breaking down the activity into smaller, achievable tasks, which help individuals understand how to complete the whole task. I am patient and will firstly explain the task, followed by demonstrating it to help visualisation for the individuals or group, which I believe to be a key factor in learning any skill.
Start of with the basics, techniques Allow others to identify dangers of the ocean, broaden ones awareness.
At the first meeting with the students I tell them: I'm not here to teach you surf. I'm here to show you various ways to understand surfing and you have to choose the best method for you to just flow. And if you do not know what to choose, I am here to help you to choose - motivational speech, I tell stories to illustrate different surfing concepts.
For beginners: I start off with a surf safety session which includes; •Water skills •What to do in tricky situations •Where to paddle out •Surf etiquette •How to duck dive After this we move onto the fun stuff, but it is very important to for a beginner to feel comfortable in their surroundings.
MY TEACHING IS 40MINS THEORY/CLASS ROOM,1HR-2HRS PRACTICAL OCEAN @ RERSPECT.
I base my classes on 5 levels, the basics in whitewash, then after you master those skills we jump into small unbroken waves after those get to easy we learn some tricks and then move on to larger waves and smaller boards, learning to crouch and duck dive we keep doing this till you can surf at local spots.
I'm a Professional surfer since 2103, and I do the WQS at the WSL(world surf league). Now I'm here in Gold Coast doing some surfing lessons and filming sessions too. I'm 27 years old and started surf since I was 8. Hope I can help you to improve your surfing.
I teach with patience, positive attitude, calm energy and adaptive techniques to suit the individual as everyone learns differently, especially in the ocean.
I will explain terminology essential to the different topics of meteorology, oceanography, the many different surf craft available today, body boards, knee boards, short boards, long boards, surf skis stand up paddle boards, surf mats, wind surfers, kite surfers, foils etc.
My teaching methodology is learn at your own pace and all way's have a smile on your face and don't give up people learn at different stages think before you jump in with both feet it's better to survey the area first so you know what you are getting into.
My approach of surf is to explain all the things you should now for after that surf by yourself.
First trot of 15 minutes to warm the muscles, then 15 minutes of stretching of each of the muscles to avoid cramps and after that half hour for the sea to teach first the movement of the sea if the wave bursts right or left so that the student can go on learning his first level, then he will pass to the second and third level with the course of his classes.
My teaching method is to show the basics and then help with advice while actually trying to surf. Having Fun is the main thing.
Depend of your level of surfing I can stay inside or outside of the water with you. My objetive is that you have to be independent on the water.
Normally a teach inside the water but the tips that I can give you can really help you with learning surf.

I adapt my teaching to suit the audience. Children, adults, backpackers, groups, disadvantaged groups i have coached them all.
I teach by obsveration and explaining what I’m seeing to you to help you understand for yourself if that makes sense, I also like to make lessons as fun as possible
I am a firm believer in experiential learning. My job is to create a space that allows you to progress, that challenges you but doesn't overwhelm you. I've had years of practice tuning into what that space looks like and have witnessed first hand how effective it is on all levels of surfers.
Get them into the ocean, feel the movement of the sea and feel comfortable on their surfboards.
My teaching methods will change according to your level of surfing.
