The essence of maths is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple. I, as a tutor make maths look fun and easy for students who have difficulty in solving even the most basic questions of maths.
I can demonstrate what I will teach in a practical way, building a big picture and then add details. I can use software to visualize what I will teach, trasforming abstract mathematics to visual image and making boring mathematics alive.
Hello! My name is Zoe Knight and I am a recent graduate of a Bachelor of International Relations and I am currently undertaking my Honours at the ANU. Having been raised in many countries around the world - Portugal, China, UAE and Australia - I have a solid understanding of various teaching methods which I believe works to my advantage when tutoring.
Hi! I am Thiysuri, and I am currently studying Bachelor of Information Technology at UC. I completed my Diploma in Information Technology last month. I was an elocution and performing arts teacher back in Sri Lanka, where I am originally from, before coming to Aussie for my higher studies.
I like to see what they need work on in the first lesson. I will see where their weaknesses are and what they need to improve on and will bridge out from there. The following lessons will focus on those areas needing improvement starting with the basics, leading into consistency. I will come to the lesson prepared with questions for them to solve based on their skill.
In my teaching methods for mathematics, I place a lot of importance on practice. I approach each topic from the concept and logic, after which I move on to solving various types of problems possible for the same topic. I encourage the pupil to voice all doubts related to the topic.
I will tutor your child to enhance and develop their mathematical abilities. I will teach lessons at a comfortable speed but still be progressing with their work and get ahead of the rest. I will follow your child's given "unit outline" and construct lessons through that. Before exams, I will prepare practice exams if they wish and go through final stages and polish up their skills.
For primary school, I usually find printable worksheets for what each child needs individually, including maths, science and writing. For high school, I write my own lesson plans with each week presenting a new topic and helping the child get an understanding of a subject.
My teaching method is introducing/strengthening the foundations of any subject and then ironing out any wrinkles in understanding to make sure the student understands the material completely. I am a strong believer in positive reinforcement and being open to asking as many questions as possible.
My lessons are aimed at all students whether you're in school or university. My aim is to make my students enjoy and love Maths like I did because when you do the subject becomes easy. Everyone could be good at Maths long as you understand the fundamentals and this will be down to your style and which teaching style you will find ideal, everyone is different.
I believe everyone is different! Different people have different ways to go about solving problems. A good mentor is one that knows their students individually, that is their strengths and weaknesses. The mentors should also be able to inspire students and encourage their self exploration.
My teaching method is to explain students to form deep understanding of concepts and theories while encouraging engagement. Then I let the students perform their own task with me assisting when necessary. I make sure I revise the content before every session.
I believe in the growing theory of education which metaphors the plants in the garden and the gardener. Based on the requirement, interests and skills of a student I try my best to tailor an customise a specific learning method.
My approach is based upon explanation of theoretical concepts which the student uses as a base to further help them in problem solving. I have not had a student with a negative experience yet, I like to teach with a discussion based approach and real world example.
Math is considered as a complex subject, however that is not the case. Once an individual understand basic concepts and how and why certain things happen, it makes it easier to understand the subject even more- making one excited and fascinated by the subject since it is an exciting subject in itself.
My Lessons would typically be 1 hour and can negotiate a fair price! I am very flexible and am able to really get into a lesson in order to make sure that the individual properly understands what they're finding difficult.
Usually my lessons will first begin with a short quiz. This is just so that I can see what my student has learnt from the previous lesson and what they might need more help on. Afterwards, I will go through their course outline and teach what they will learn in class, so that they will better understand concepts.
I guarantee, Maths will no more be a boring subject with me. My previous students have always enjoyed my teaching and loved me for teaching so simply and fantastically. I make my lessons easy, simple and clear by giving due consideration to the student's age and mental level.
I believe as much as it is important learners' input, the tutor holds equal responsibility and I am confident enough to say I hold the skills and attention to invest my time and abilities. I believe learning from the book and notes also require practice and one cannot achieve high success without enough efforts and practice.
I love helping students at any level of competency. My lessons would be structured first on getting to know the student and how they best learn, and then focusing on the areas they most struggle with. Depending on how attentive the student is, I'd give them short breaks or switch activities accordingly to make sure they were kept engaged.
I am a confident, outgoing person with extensive design and communication skills. I like being a leader and work well as an individual and as part of a team. I am looking for a job that will allow me to work and contribute greatly to the community as well as advance my own career.
Sometimes there's only one way to solve a problem, but many times there are multiple avenues to the answer. When I teach students, I always try to focus on a results-driven approach, rather than encouraging the student to only limit themselves to one way of doing things.
When I first meet a student I try to get to know them. The structure and content of the lessons depend primarily on how much the student knows coming into the lesson. From then, in mathematics I help them understand the material and from there use exercises to reinforce that understanding.
My teaching method is really simple is to go step by step topics while touching base with other earlier topics if needed for one to understand the topic. I like to plan my classes ahead and leave work until next class, in which more time is utilised.
I am a biologist with postgraduate courses in statistics. My lessons started with a theoretical introduction of the topic followed by practical exercises. The practical part involve two steps. First, a guide to the statistic technique or methodology using examples, and a second part of individual practice.
I am a mature tutor who has worked with major tutoring agencies in Canberra throughout the 1990s and 2000s. I am patient, empathetic and responsible tutor who takes pride in seeing my students achieve their full potential. I have tutored ALL levels of Mathematics.
Having tutored high school students before, I am looking to continue to tutor students in years 7-10 in maths. My lessons are generally designed to supplement what the student is learning at school. I usually start by talking about the content covered in class and gaging the student's level of understanding of each concept in order to determine where my lesson focus should be.
My method is to make a student practice more and more . I deliver lectures and then supplement it with tons of questions. The idea is to make student confident and more learned then before.
My teaching method should be based on the students' interest, mostly I would teach based on the textbook of my students and also plus some extra notes and material I think it is relevant and useful. Examples-based method applied so that students can access knowledge in easier way.
I am an experienced patient ,caring Mathematics Teacher who has been in the profession for 30 years.I can teach all kinds of Mathematics subjects from simplest to more complex one.Students from different levels loves and likes my subject because I made it easier for them to understand.
