The essence of maths is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple. I, as a tutor make maths look fun and easy for students who have difficulty in solving even the most basic questions of maths.
I am exam-oriented which means I'd like to guess what will be tested in the exam and help my students get well prepared, because I believe that normally we cannot remember everything appears in the lecture notes. One strategy is to remember the most important knowledge and my job is to make a summary about the most important one in notes.
My lessons are aimed at all students whether you're in school or university. My aim is to make my students enjoy and love Maths like I did because when you do the subject becomes easy. Everyone could be good at Maths long as you understand the fundamentals and this will be down to your style and which teaching style you will find ideal, everyone is different.
My teaching method is really simple is to go step by step topics while touching base with other earlier topics if needed for one to understand the topic. I like to plan my classes ahead and leave work until next class, in which more time is utilised.
Hi, I'm Marcus and I am currently an undergraduate student at the Australian National University. I've scored distinctions in mathematics at various major examinations and participated in Mathematics Olympiad competitions. I have a strong passion for mathematics, and I am willing to help anyone who wants to improve their understanding of the subject.
I like to begin by introducing the student to the over-arching concept and building a solid foundation before moving onto the specific ideas and concepts. I like to use a variety of techniques such as mind-maps, checklists and flow charts alongside discussion and key note summaries for the student to take home at the end of each session.
My teaching method is introducing/strengthening the foundations of any subject and then ironing out any wrinkles in understanding to make sure the student understands the material completely. I am a strong believer in positive reinforcement and being open to asking as many questions as possible.
I would love to structure the lessons as well as provided regular tests and sometimes homework so the student can be fully prepared for their exams. An example lesson would follow this structure: 1. understanding the level of the student 2.Theory of the topic 3. students asking questions on the topic 3. Example questions with me 4. questions by themselves 5.
My teaching method will be quite specific to the individual student. While I'm happy to set out a general structure for a lesson based on the current curriculum I will look predominantly to tailor my lesson to the needs of the student. I'm flexible in my teaching.
I tend to start by focusing of self-confidence. I've spoken to many parents who are concerned that struggling with maths is affecting their child's self esteem. I try to eliminate all negative self-talk from my lessons, and focus how to improve. I'll tailor my methods to suit each student individually, because everyone thinks differently.
My teaching method is to explain students to form deep understanding of concepts and theories while encouraging engagement. Then I let the students perform their own task with me assisting when necessary. I make sure I revise the content before every session.
I believe a good tutor is someone who cares about their students and makes tutoring engaging and interesting - for it's when students are engaged that they take the most out of their learning. As a tutor, I strive to make sessions academically rigorous, yet also make tutoring sessions that students want to come back to.
Having tutored high school students before, I am looking to continue to tutor students in years 7-10 in maths. My lessons are generally designed to supplement what the student is learning at school. I usually start by talking about the content covered in class and gaging the student's level of understanding of each concept in order to determine where my lesson focus should be.
I believe everyone is different! Different people have different ways to go about solving problems. A good mentor is one that knows their students individually, that is their strengths and weaknesses. The mentors should also be able to inspire students and encourage their self exploration.
I usually like to consult my students before conducting lessons to determine the level and style of teaching they are most comfortable with. Since I believe learning Math is all about practice, I will be providing several exercises and problem sets in class.
I teach by motivating my students to work hard on appropriate tasks and challenges, through carefully picking the right assignments and giving my students pride in their own abilities.
I love helping students at any level of competency. My lessons would be structured first on getting to know the student and how they best learn, and then focusing on the areas they most struggle with. Depending on how attentive the student is, I'd give them short breaks or switch activities accordingly to make sure they were kept engaged.
Would be interested to take classes in math fundamentals, Trigonometry and Calculus. Also school physics, data structures and applied sciences. Shall structure the topics based on needs of the student and his proficiency level. Wishing the very best.
Hello! My name is Zoe Knight and I am a recent graduate of a Bachelor of International Relations and I am currently undertaking my Honours at the ANU. Having been raised in many countries around the world - Portugal, China, UAE and Australia - I have a solid understanding of various teaching methods which I believe works to my advantage when tutoring.
I have had and pleased the opportunity to teach at different levels: Mathematics/Spanish high school and at universities. First at all, I look to know the students background. Secondly, I make the students to feel confortable.
I am an experienced patient ,caring Mathematics Teacher who has been in the profession for 30 years.I can teach all kinds of Mathematics subjects from simplest to more complex one.Students from different levels loves and likes my subject because I made it easier for them to understand.
My teaching methodology is to keep it simple. I like to break down every difficult topic into small milestones so that it becomes much easier to process. The best way to study physics is to have real world examples explain a particular concept. A particular lesson structure from me would involve lots of simplified analogies (for physics) and practice questions (for maths).

Hi! I am Thiysuri, and I am currently studying Bachelor of Information Technology at UC. I completed my Diploma in Information Technology last month. I was an elocution and performing arts teacher back in Sri Lanka, where I am originally from, before coming to Aussie for my higher studies.
When I first meet a student I try to get to know them. The structure and content of the lessons depend primarily on how much the student knows coming into the lesson. From then, in mathematics I help them understand the material and from there use exercises to reinforce that understanding.
My teaching method should be based on the students' interest, mostly I would teach based on the textbook of my students and also plus some extra notes and material I think it is relevant and useful. Examples-based method applied so that students can access knowledge in easier way.
For math, understanding the textbook is the most important thing, then practice questions of different level to help you digest what you have learned and buttress your understanding.
I am a biologist with postgraduate courses in statistics. My lessons started with a theoretical introduction of the topic followed by practical exercises. The practical part involve two steps. First, a guide to the statistic technique or methodology using examples, and a second part of individual practice.
Don't consider myself very smart, only able to do well with study and practice. Every tutoring lesson has three parts: - Pre- tutoring hw - generally sent by email, and marked during lesson - Tutoring- step by step analysis of any questions that you might be struggling with, focusing on isolating and correcting the part of the process which you are struggling with.
