I prefer to teach in a relaxed environment like cafes or in the city. Conversational most of the time but then with sessions concentrated on the students areas where they want to improve. I feel the best way to learn is for the student to TALK, so my classes will hopefully have the student talking the majority of the time :)...
My teaching method is through engaging with students and having open discussions, I believe that is how primary and secondary and tertiary students learn best, from my experience. Playing games works best for primary students as they are engaged for most of the time. For secondary students playing mind-games works best. For tertiary students doing reviews and short-exams works best.
I believe that every individual learns through different methods and the way one method works for one might not for the other so I base my curriculum depending on the student. After 2 teaching classes you’ll know the method that suits you.
I base my lessons in the comprention of words and the sound of the words as well i focus in the movement of the mouth and the sounds we can reproduce, and i try as possible for my students to modify thier sounds and the way they move their tongs to produce this new sounds.

My lessons would be composed by a big basis of grammar and complemented with oral speaking and comprehension, weather of audio files or direct speaking to the student, reading is also a key part in order to fully understand a language.

My focus is on how the language works as part of the Latin-American culture, therefore, I consider that bringing authentic materials to the class helps increasing students' awareness of the language in real context. I'm always thinking about new teaching techniques for my students, how to motivate them to continue learning besides the class.
I am Lena, 24 and based in Adelaide for the next few months. I am half Spanish/ German and grew up in Barcelona . I have been giving Spanish classes to different levels for the past 6 years and it was always fun. I'm currently teaching 2 classes per week in Adelaide.
My approach is a practical way to teach. My classes will involve theory, practical and reading writing assignments. I like to start my classes with a little theory. Then take the class outside and go experience the day, while learning the specific things you need to know to communicate and interact with your surroundings.
