Being a young individual myself, I am able to easily connect with younger students, and also have experience in childcare and youth work. In saying this however, I do not exclude mature age students from my tutelage, and am comfortable and confident in conversing with older pupils.
I have had very strict teachers in the past as well as very gentle ones. I think that the kind of teaching method that works best depends entirely on the person being taught, sometimes you need to be kicked into practicing regularly and taking it seriously and other times you need a teacher who will give you a confidence boost and help you to enjoy music.
