I prefer for my students to bring me the work they are struggling with so that I can explain, step through the problems with them and then provide practice problems for them to work through. I am a visual and active learner myself so my teaching style will definitely benefit those who are also visual and active learners themselves.

With all mathematics, I believe if one can understand the core meaning behind formulas or apply a real life application, then they are easier to memorize. In addition, being able to break down larger formulas into their base principles and laws improves lateral thinking when a student encounters a similar, but non-routine question.
In a personal environment, I have found students to be much more honest about areas they do not understand or feel they are weaker on. I try to build on work in the classroom by focusing on areas that students feel they understand the least.
I am a responsive tutor. I prefer to hear what the student believe key areas they need to work on or topics they don't understand.
You will firstly tell me the concepts that you need discussing-- we'll go through them and discuss where you are having trouble. Then we'll do some exercises, because practice makes perfect (definitely). After couple of weeks, Ill give you some revision so you can work through it to get a comprehensive understanding of what you learn.
I believe that every student is different, and with some concepts being difficult to grasp, the approach to success requires flexibility. My philosophy in learning is ensuring that students understand the basics of the task at hand, which once mastered, can be followed by applying those basics to more complex problem solving.
My teaching method is structured around active learning. This is where I teach the content and then ask my students to recall the information in interesting and creative ways. I have found this method to be the most successful as it requires the student to break down the content being taught and then explain it in their own words.
I am currently studying my 2nd year of Medicine at JCU. During High School I studied Maths B and C, Chemistry and Physics. I am happy to help with homework, explaining concepts and practice problems. I can also assist with assignments or anything that you require.
I am a straight A student in Maths and enjoy the subject unlike many other people. This gives me a drive to succeed and see other's succeed. The kind of students I can teach are grade 9 or below and also primary school students.
I base my classes on the needs of the student. At first, I try to have the student come forward with areas that they need help with. Then I design an individually tailored program through the use of a wide range of resources including sample essays, past papers and worked example. In the lesson time itself, we will address the areas of most concern.
I make sure that the student listens to me, understands the material by making them repeat the core and help them solve complex problems that will come on later with the material that I am teaching. I believe the student should do homework as this will make the student think independently and solve the problems alone, to make him or her ready for exams.
I teach with a very structures routine, with a clear expectation placed on students as to what they have to do to succeed in both my classes and their school.
My teaching method is homework help and teaching based on school curriculum and learning outcomes. For learning new concepts, I explain the topic at hand and then have a question based learning approach where I encourage the student to work through the problem themselves and assist when required.
Tutoring students from primary school through to university level. lessons are planned taking into account how a student best learns, as no two students are alike. I have over 5 years experience in all levels of mathematics, and have a broad range of resources on which to find countless examples of whatever topic the student needs help with.
I am a first year student at James Cook University. I enjoy helping people, especially kids and students. My lessons are targeted at any type of student who is in need of assistant. Together, we can figure out a way of learning and teaching that can help you the most.
I make study plans according to students' individual level and their interest. I make the lectures fun by linking the topics to daily life examples. For instance, when I teach Chinese, I often introduce popular culture and online trends; and in math I also explain why the abstract concepts useful in real world.
Depending on the student’s needs, I like to base my classes on either guiding the student to understanding concepts or exam questions. I like to encourage students to ask questions and from the questions asked we can explore the concepts behind.
My lesson structure for science is inquiry-based learning assisted with visual aids to gain conceptual knowledge of the underlying key ideas of science. Understanding why science works assists students apply their skills to difficult problems. The use of science glossaries to obtain and retain word knowledge is paramount.
