For physics and Math lessons I usually introduce the idea or concept to the student, mostly I relate the application it has in their day to day life. Then the student is introduced to problem solving techniques in that particular topic.
Teaching is a special skill that can be acquired only if one tries to understand how people learn new concepts. The trick is to observe how you learn a new concept yourself. I tailor my lessons according the students' capabilities, using right examples and visualisation techniques, and other aspects.
* Cover core concepts which can be validated on all situations. Once the fundamentals are clear, difficult problems can be broken down in order to simplify solutions. *There are no mediocre questions, one should always know how to create a pathway for an optimum solution (minimising complexity and time constraints).
My teaching is a very interactive approach where I use my students help to link topics and lessons. I found this method quite successful in making students remember for a longer time as their participation provides opportunity to learn and explore on their own with keen interest.
The key to learning science and maths is not being a genius - it is appreciating the underlying beauty of the ideas that are being presented, and hungering to dig deeper.
I am gearing tutoring towards those students who need assistance with their course content. I will expect that student provide me with the subject that they need help with so that together we can find out where the knowledge gap is and work to match the teaching expectations of the course you are undertaking. I am happy to provide homework and assignment help.
I would like to consider myself as a potential candidate to make the best use of my strong interpersonal communication, ability to manage difficult situations and resolve problems and maximize my knowledge. I believe, teaching is a learning process and that is why I prefer to name my lesson as "interaction session". That means, a session is not only teach students but also fulfill their desire.
* Science educator at Questacon - the National Science and Technology Centre * Masters in maths/science education from ANU * University Medal winner * ATAR 99.85 * 10+ years experience in maths/science education and tutoring I am a skilled tutor with more than 10 years experience and a passion for teaching Mathematics, Physics, Science and French.
I have always wanted to work with children and am passionate about their safety, wellbeing and diverse needs. I believe that teachers are the foundational building block for students learning and integration into society. Being a mum, I know all children learn differently and are talented in different areas; this is something I will be sure to highlight with in my classroom.
I always adopt a 'fun and learn' approach by linking the taught lessons with everyday applications in real life. In this way, I have been able to make my lesson interesting even for the students who fear mathematics. I have proven ability of making my subject areas interesting for students from any background.
ANU Engineering and business administration student. Focusing on private tutoring in Canberra. Born in Korea and raised in Australia. Currently have GPA 6.5/7 for Bachelor of Engineering(Mechanical and materials). Finished high school with ATAR of 96 in Queensland (Overall position of 3). Have working with children and vulnerable people check.
I try to find where a student stands first and then teach him/ her in the simplest way possible n so that they can grasp the concepts. My teaching involves regular tests to asses the student on an ongoing basis and providing assistance for the homework.
I myself learn by doing it myself and this is what i mainly focus on getting my students to do. The lesson structure usually go for 1 or two hours and begin with a recap of lessons past learnt. Then discuss what will be taught on that day, following this i will teach the theory to a good understanding including examples.
My name is Aseniya, and I am highly enthusiastic about teaching and helping school goers in need. Both of my parents are teachers, so I believe this passion of tutoring comes to me quite naturally. The fundamentals of maths and physics are where students get confused the most.
My approach to teach students is to make concepts easier to understand and interesting for them by bringing in as many examples as possible from real life situations. I teach students (wherever possible) techniques which help in developing their mental calculations ability and help them in retaining concepts.
I like to begin by introducing the student to the overarching concept and building a solid foundation before moving onto the specific ideas and concepts. I like to use a variety of techniques such as mind-maps, checklists and flow charts alongside discussion and key note summaries for the student to take home at the end of each session.
My teaching philosophy is to support my students towards a broader understanding of the subject and intensive focuses on any special interest my students have. I am flexible in that I am willing to devote my time to helping solve problems or, for the curious, to teach additional concepts to willing students.
I believe in providing application based understanding of subjects which help students to grasp concepts very quickly and effectively. Being an engineer and now a researcher, I have strong subject knowledge in maths, physics and chemistry and therefore I can explain one concept in several different ways.
I try to teach by giving relevant examples from daily life or co-relate the topic with their topic of interest so that they are attentive and understand fast.
My way of teaching is practical and brief. Students thereby gain knowledge and can easily memorize the subject. Can assist in assignments and also help in problematic areas in the subjects. Systematic teaching and friendly approach to students which makes learning easy.
Throughout my learning experience I have discovered that the best way for someone to learn is to do. I will try and apply this to my lessons through taking the content provided by schools and breaking it down into smaller digestible problems that students can handle.
I approach each topic with an example by example basis. Firstly, there will be a brief discussion of the theory being spoken about. Then an easy example to get comfortable with the concept. Following which harder problems will be given to show common mistakes made by people in these kinds of problems.
My aim when teaching is for the students to have an understanding of the underlying principles of the subject, rather than simply rote learning a list of formulae. The reason for this is that while learning formulae is faster, they are often forgotten after a short period of time, whereas with an understand of the principles, you can remake the formulae when you forget them.
My Lessons would typically be 1 hour and can negotiate a fair price! I am very flexible and am able to really get into a lesson in order to make sure that the individual properly understands what they're finding difficult.
I'll make use of many analogies and visual representation as well as any practical demonstrations I'm within my ability to do. And not to ignore the more mathematical or theory parts of physics, I'll be providing sample questions that I'll go through with You.
I always make sure to Increase the individuals understanding of the concept, rather similar to how I learn. even though it takes a little more time to Increase our Understandings of basic concepts significantly, believe me, its worth the time. and the other method which complements this is lots of problems solving.
Teaching students from first principle and application of principles which involve problem (exercises) solving (calculations). My teaching strategies include the review and solving of questions from past examination questions with students after having introduced basic foundation about the topics.
My teaching methodology is teaching the concepts covered in school first. We will get the basics right. Then we will do examples to clarify and consolidate the concepts. Even after lessons, students can email me to clarify any urgent questions.
consultative and interactive, i have been a mentor to many graduates and work with them to ensure they achieve their goals and to develop their skills. i have also been a sports coach so am happy to work hard with the kids to achieve their goals.
I am a dynamic teacher who likes to explain mathematics and physics from the experience of daily life. What you see in reality is the basis for understanding what mathematics does to put it on paper and play with it. I am a practical person who likes to be direct at the time of teaching, without confusing the student.
