Maths is about learning and applying - not memorising. Not only can I provide the necessary knowledge, I focus on developing problem solving abilities, critical thinking and alternate approaches to a broad range of mathematical topics.
Every student is unique. I base my lesson structures based on the individual needs of the student. I also implement a variety of visual aids, interesting questions, and problem-solving approaches to ensure that the student truly understands the fundamentals of a subject. I try to make my lessons as engaging and interactive as possible.
I base my lessons on what the student would like to work and improve upon. I like to look at their overall course outline to effectively build upon and progress the student in line with the timeline that their school follows to keep them on top of their work. I believe that each student has the ability to achieve success and it is my goal to support them in doing so.
I understand that there are various learning styles and usually spend time to get to know which environment my students learn best in. This is why I try to make sure all my classes are tailored to how each student absorbs and retains information best.
1.Know the material. I only teach materials that I have a through knowledge about know the and student is expected to be proficient in. 2.Relate math skills to everyday life. Many students struggle with math because they don’t understand the practical applications of it. When I put the material in the context of their lives, they are more likely to understand and learn it. 3.
I am very enthusiastic, friendly and humorous. I really love working with primary school students because they are so curious about everything and I absolutely love that attitude when it comes to learning new things. When it comes to tutoring my friends, I always find out what they don't understand and need help on. I then teach them that topic to improve their understanding.
I am very calm person and teach the learners according to their requirements. I always encourage them to ask the questions in between the class to make them understand the problems fully. I have got lot of patience for others.
Firstly, I am open to answering any questions students have at the start of the lesson. If there are not many questions, I can explain concepts that students are struggling with and provide sample questions at the end of the lesson to solidify the concept.
Hello my name is Utsav and I come from the beautiful island of Mauritius. I have been living in Brisbane for the last five years and recently obtained my bachelor degree with a major in civil engineering from the University of Queensland. I taught Cambridge A-level computing back in 2013 before starting my tertiary studies.
Hi, I am a Master's student at QUT. I am totally driven towards educational wellbeing of the children from all age groups. I have unique ways of teaching kids, as they will be more of my friends than students. I myself have scored 9.3/10 in my high school and I understand how things can turn bad if Mathematics concepts are not clear. As they say:- strong houses are built on strong foundations.
I am Silvia Chowdhury. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) and have recently completed my study leading to the degree of Master of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from International Islamic University Malaysia. I have 8 years teaching and tutoring experience as a physics, maths, chemistry and biology tutor in Malaysia and Bangladesh.
During the first lesson, we ll go through the topic to see what are the difficulties encountered. The following session are based on hands on exercice. The student will be ask to be actif and to perform short homework based on reviewed topic that had been dispensed.
focus on desired learning outcomes for students, in the form of knowledge, understanding, skill and attitudes; assist students to form broad conceptual understandings while gaining depth of knowledge; encourage the informed and critical questioning of accepted theories and views; develop an awareness of the limited and provisional nature of much of the current knowledge in all fields; see how...
I am passionate about teaching high school students who require guidance in Mathematics (Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, Algorithms, Arithmatics etc. ) and Physics. Moreover, all the Civil Engineering related subjects to Engineering undergraduates in the Universities. Additionally, I am willing to extend my support for assignments and tutorials too.
I try to adapt different topics to students' needs. I usually try to perform some experiments whenever possible. Otherwise, I create an imaginary experiment and I try to make the student understand it, focusing on the most important consequences of the concepts being studied. Also, I generally attempt to translate mathematical concepts, making it easier to apply them in physics' exercises.
I am a female in the Engineering field. I am excited to help young people develop their Maths and Science skills so these subjects aren't so 'scary'. Lessons will focus on helping the student understand the concepts behind these subjects. My Father always taught me to "Do the English before you do the Maths.
My teaching method is based on understanding what you require to achieve and how can I help you achieve proper learning and understanding to give a strong base to your learning for smooth and successful progression. It will add value for your learning.
I am a firm believer in understanding concepts rather than the monkey-see, monkey-do approach to learning which a lot of maths teachers employ in school. By understanding the fundamental ideas behind mathematics, I have achieved A+ grades throughout Maths B/C in high school and now in university l have received High Distinctions for all units.
My teaching method is very hands on, I endeavour to be as thorough as possible at a pace best suited to the student, teaching the most up to date material of interest utilising textbook material and images. Agreed times will be strictly adhered to cancelation or late notice is available 30 min prior to lesson. Lesson charges begin at the agreed time.
My philosophy is that learning and playing are synonyms of each other. Therefore I am always eager to create a light working atmorsphere and involve hobbies of my students into the lessons to make the subjects more interesting. If my student for example likes to play rugby, I am going to integrate examples with which the student can identify him- or herself.
Even when teaching the basics, it is important to teach why we are learning this, and how it could be applied. When teaching someone to canoe or sail, you have to find a reason to keep them motivated while teaching the basics. Explaining why and how it can be applied teaches critical thinking whilst keeping them motivated.
I usually teach from the concept, then ask the students to finish the question and review with them on every steps to find out the problem and discuss together. Sometimes I will also play student's role to ask my students to know whether they really understand the concept.
I believe in the philosophy that to learn with the most efficiency and effectiveness, you must have a passion or desire to learn for the sake of curiosity. Therefore, I make every lesson a balanced fun/work dynamic that makes learning interesting and valuable to any individual who learns from me.
I am a first year Mechatronics student at UQ. I have just completed studying the IB Diploma Program, in which I studied Higher Level Maths so I have a high standard of knowledge. I would prefer to tutor students from Year 2 to 10. I have a friendly and creative approach to Maths, and focus on using real life examples to justify the need for learning and using Maths.
A hands on approach. The best way to learn maths is do maths. A high level review of the work is the best way to start, then a deep dive into each aspect, using worked examples and practice problems throughout.
My teaching method will be based on basic concepts. I want to make sure that the student is good with his/her basics. Based on my experience I strongly feel that kids with strong basics can do well in advanced concepts.
I believe that the ability to teach a topic is the key to understanding it. As such, my approach to teaching involves asking my students to attempt to explain to me their understanding of the topic and challenging their way of thinking.
I like to have access to the learning material in order to familiarize myself and find additional bibliographical and practical resources that can help me support the tutoring. I usually focus on the marking scheme and the specific needs of the student to come up with a preliminary sequence for the tutoring, which I adjust once I am face to face talking to the student.
As a high school student, I realise how important it is to make lessons interesting and informative. I have to younger sisters (7 y.o. and 11 y.o.) who I am tutoring as well, so I know how to find an approach to children. I also help my classmates with their study process and I am great in explaining the topics using a simple language and life-related examples.
Being an engineering student, I have a good grasp of concept and theory of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. I am willing to teach students struggling to get passing grades as well as students hoping for distinctions. I can teach online but I prefer face-to-face teaching. I would like to teach chapter wise. However, I am ready to jump to chapters or concepts you guys are having hard times with.
