I really enjoy seeing the progress in my students, so in our first lesson, I'll work hard to find out what your goals are, so we can begin working towards achieving them. I'll be asking you lots of questions to get you talking, and I'll often correct your sentences to help you speak more naturally and fluently. (I also really like to help with improving pronunciation.
Hi there! I graduated VCE in 2017 with an ATAR of 98.15 and am currently studying a double degree at Monash University - Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (Hons) and Bachelor of Science.
The lessons which I will be providing for IELTS will be up to do mark and according to the updated syllabus and portfolios. Each lesson will bring out something new in you and will help you to become more creative each day. Also these lessons will be easy at first stage to help you learn fast so that you can reach the next level easily.
I am a Certified TEFL - TESOL teacher/tutor. I also have experience in the use of the English testing regimes know as IELTS and PTE. My lessons can be adapted to the needs of most students. I am currently privately tutoring 6 students.
My teaching approach is to involve the students as much as possible in their own learning. I want to encourage lots of interaction between learners and myself, and / or between two or more learners. I like to keep lessons moving with a variety of activities including the four key elements of language learning: listening, speaking, reading / viewing and writing.
Although my teaching methods are quite flexible, I work mainly with active learning and communicative approach techniques, which means I normally develop activities in which students practice their autonomy with the English language. Also, it means that I do my best not to interrupt students while they are expressing themselves, even if they commit mistakes.
Hi, my name is Amy Robinson and I have just graduated from university. I have taught English in Japan and love to help students from other countries to improve their conversation skills in English. You can expect to learn about Australian culture, people, slang, English grammar and loads more. The lesson will be tailored to your needs with your expectations being met at all times.
My teaching method is both relational in nature and diverse in style. People come from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances and this must be taken into account when working with students of any age. So empathy is key. Moreover, as students have different learning modalities and multiple intelligences, an individualized educational approach would be necessary for effective teaching.
The first thing I do is to gain a thorough understanding of each student's learning situation: current English level, desired learning outcomes and linguistic background (Native language, other languages spoken). This helps me to tailor my teaching to suit the student.
My lessons are usually focused on the particular subject / problem that the student needs to help with. I am able to help with home assessments, increasing vocabulary, improving grammar or just to help with conversation topics. during the first lessons, I can estimate what the student needs to improve.
As the learning abilities are different of each learner, I use a combination of approaches while teaching. This could be direct teaching to using authentic material and some time using roles plays, home works, presentations etc to ensure that learners are benefited all the way.
Freedom and humour are two of the most important things for me, both in teaching and in learning – these are the memories I find most humbling looking back on my own school experiences. The relationship between student and teacher is equally important and there needs to be space to allow for it to take place. I specialise in helping people take enjoyment in language.
Learning based on understanding is my selling pitch. I believe you don't learn with memorization. I will give you the concepts which are not a lot as opposed to rules which are too many. Learning must be fun not excruciatingly difficult. My teaching methodology is based on years of research on teaching because of my education in TESOL.
My teaching method is based on the student feeling comfortable and relaxed. I don't put pressure on the student, and I am willing to teach in a way that will suit the individual person. I believe that having fun and experiencing new places whilst studying can be a productive and enjoyable way to learn.
I always try to get along with my students and have a firm understanding of their strengths and weaknesses so I can prepare my lessons efficiently. Start from the basics and work my way up to advance skills. I aim for an easy-going, efficient and comfortable sessions.
I teach in an easy and fast learning technique. I follow a very effective practical teaching style by identifying the students weak points. I teach students using applied English used in today's top professional world by personal tutions and online study material. I recommend students to have a face to face session because it's a language and it's all about communicating with each other.
Holly is a Writing Graduate, with a passion for the English language and a keen eye for editing and structural writing. My lessons are for school and university students; structured around the student's specific learning qualities, based on Low-Tech Kinesthetic Learning and a flipped classroom style. All students learn at a different rate with their own tricks to retain information.
I based my classes according to the students levels and planning lesson and activities based on their preferred learning style and which can make them enjoying the lessons
My belief is that to be a good teacher there are three essential ingredients: 1. Subject Knowledge. A teacher must know what he/she is talking about 2. Rapport with students. Where possible, Classes should be as entertaining as possible. 3. Dedication. A teacher must give 100% effort to his/her students. I follow these ideologies when I have (a) student(s).
I have learnt from my past few experiences working with students that each individual has their own approach to learning. I then, developed custom curriculums to assist and work synergistically together with the student to increase their overall attention span and produce a better outcome with regards to their grades.
I believe in facilitating classes, with learning being focused on active student participation and engagement. Instead of rote learning, students are actively challenged to reach their own conclusions with questions, discussions and corrections. I also incorporate much application of the language in daily life through engaging anecdotes / stories and relevant examples.
The best English lessons are significant and fun. They are significant because English should be useful and relevant; the student should be learning grammar and vocabulary that they will use in their everyday life. They are fun because every lesson should be memorable, and a fun lesson is much easier to remember.
Basically, what we do is practising conversational English/Japanese/Indonesian, learning idioms and phrases from there and also grammatical points. Aside from giving short speech, we will also do "shadowing" (repeating what you hear) from short conversations to longer ones depending on your needs.
My teaching method varies depending on the goal. If it is exam preparation it is important to teach strategy as well as language knowledge. I know what they're looking for to get you that grade! But language learning needs to be dynamic and forever changing. It also needs to be adapted to your way of learning and activities/exercises that work for you in particular.
My teaching method is friendly and fun! I am not set in any teaching plan - we will find what method suits you best and use that to help you improve. For school settings, I will read through the task sheet and marking rubric to fully understand what your teacher wants before using this to aid in my tutoring.
My teaching method is English as an additional language or dialect. My lessons are adaptable for students of all levels and can be altered to match their needs and schedule. I connect the material to their lives to ensure retention.
We will start each class with 'free talk', so I can get an idea of your level of English (listening, speaking, and most importantly, comprehending) and help you focus on the areas where I see you may need to improve.
As I offer my services to a wide range of students, ranging from adult ESL learners to high school students, my teaching methodology is flexible and tailored to the particular needs of students. I always strive to make lesson material accessible and interesting to students.
In my vast teaching experience, I helped students to achieve their individual specific goals from passing English language exams, to applying to a job, getting a promotion or simply building their confidence in using English as a second language. When I teach I always use the communicative method, which means you get a lot of practice and I listen and correct where necessary.
My teaching method is based on science; I approach teaching scientifically, not according to fashionable views on teaching and learning. Therefore, I assess how you learn, then design lessons around this knowledge about you. With your help, I determine your knowledge and skill and aim my lessons at moving you beyond this level toward the level you want.
