I believe practical teaching is the key to success. You will not train your brain by just reading (although it does help to an extent), you need to put your work into practise. I also believe watching others perform or create in front of each other and listen to the corrections others gets, helps build a stronger performer.
As an outgoing, energetic and bubbly person I try my absolute best to get my students excited and engaged with the content I am teaching. I think that it is important that students actually WANT to better their learning in order to do so successfully.

My belief is that student and teacher should work together to achieve the best outcome for the student, and in an environment where all are passionate about what they're studying, that collaboration is achievable. A typical lesson will look more like a masterclass, where students bring a song/script etc.
I base my teaching on you, who you are, what you are trying to do and how to get there with a feeling of mastery, pride and self worth. With discussions, reflections, questionnaires, artistic responses and full emotional engagement you will be focusing on transforming yourself into roles required for your success.
My teaching method is catered to individual students, and/or groups of students who wish to explore their own ability to make and create works. My philosophy involves research and development, with a thorough exploration as to how they intersect, and how one can influence the other.
Drama, isn't about me telling you what to do. It's about you exploring what your capable of. I help students understand the fundamentals of drama, and push them to their limits. So they can produce the work they want to create.

I believe acting is learnt through practical methods. While the theory is necessary and important, most acting is learnt through experimenting with movements, expressions, and imagination. I love to see students come alive in doing something they love and are committed to.
First and most importantly is the style of actor you want to be, once we go from there we can build on that idea. I have been in a great variety of productions and have had to practice many different acting styles from children's theater to Shakespeare, knowing when to be comedic and how much comedy is needed at the given moment and when to be dramatic.
When I teach and/or tutor any subject the first thing I find out is what the student/students actually know and can already do. The next step is to focus on understanding the questions they are required to answer. Then we build on prior knowledge, explore the topic and follow a plan to complete the required tasks/assignments.
My teaching method is relaxed and based on what you as a student would like to improve upon. I value amd respect your style of learning as well as strive to encourage growth whilst making it as fun as possible.

Each person is an individual, so although I may have specific learning materials I may use, over the years I have learnt to bring different methods to suit the individual, particularly if the student requires different methods of learning and succeeding.
