I am a strong believer that a student who does not have focus and the resolve to try and change, will not be able to grow or improve their skills, in other words, the student must be disciplined, a teacher can't train that in a student. I like to start from the foundation by inquiring what the student wishes to achieve (including time frame, how far they intend to take the skill etc).
My teaching methods are based on the needs of my clients. I follow prescribed curriculums for school children or subject music at institutions or can adapt to the needs of Uncle Ben who always wanted to learn how to play the sax... People have different ways of learning so I try to adapt to reach the best outcome.
Lessons are tailored to what my students are passionate about in music. We'll keep a lesson diary to check in with how you're improving and I will write exercises for you to practice in your own time outside of lessons.
My lessons can be tailored to any student, regardless of age, experience or ability! Depending on the subject I like to structure my lessons into short, manageable tasks with something fun to start with, tricky stuff in the middle, and fun to finish. I encourage a focus on process over product. Everything in the Arts takes time, patience and practice.
Navigating the music industry can be daunting at times but there is no time like the present to get started on your career! For budding beginners to advanced musicians or people looking to get involved with the business side of the industry, I offer my experience, contacts and resources.
The teaching is based on 2 aspects: The technique and the playing. Learning a minimum amount of technique is necessary to ignite the playing that will incorporate both an intuitive and pragmatic approach. Precisely, as a stage musician I am basing the teaching on the idea the student will eventually want to have fun playing with other musicians or solo in public.

I choose the most suitable approaches to teaching, depending on my students' possibilities and expectations. My lessons are 40- 45 minutes in length, so I combine piano, theory, singing and even music history in one lesson. I am a good improviser myself, so I teach song writing principles too.
I like to start out slow by teaching the basics and helping kids to understand how the piano or violin works. First few times will be focused on musical integrity, posture and care of instrument. Most people love to learn new things and would start out fast, but I would teach them to get all the notes right first, before bringing any song or piece of music up to speed.
I generally use interactive lessons when teaching, as I have been taught they are the best way to enable a student to learn more. Getting help and tutored in subject areas is important no matter the brightness of the student involved.
Classes can have a duration of 30-60 minutes or longer, depending on the student’s needs. I like to mix lessons using four hand pieces from early levels, introducing different styles of music and incorporating theory, technical and sight-reading exercises for a more enjoyable lesson. I delight in restoring a passion for music to the learner.
I believe that it is important for students to have a well-rounded music education that encompasses aural, theory and practical skills. I also aim to make music a fun and enjoyable experience that brings people together and cultivates a positive musical community.

I focus my teaching on what the individual student needs and change my methodology depending on the age and standard. I aim to teach the student to understand the instrument, feel the music and the emotion and experience the joy of performance.

Music is a concept that takes practice and repetition, and that is where I start. Whilst it might seem boring and useless at the start, it is the best way to learn. Will do theory work as well as that is the bases of all music.
The student always comes first. I understand each individual may have different learning scopes and can cater well with my flexible teaching skills. As a patient and supportive tutor I aim to make the student feel good about their progression in learning. My classes have no other objective than music itself, this means that all knowledge and all technique only makes sense when applied to music itself. There is nothing that motivates students more than knowing how well they play piano and this is only achieved through a clear and unique orientation designed for each student.
I base my lessons on what the overall goal is for the student such as; learning to read music, learning piano, learning singing techniques, song writing tips and tricks etc.
