The kind of students my lessons are geared towards is those violin beginners. My lessons would be basic and easy to understand. First step is getting to know those notes and after that is the scales. Afterwards is some practice songs.
My method of teaching requires me to understand the student in their capabilities and what they want to achieve. My aim is to improve their skills in a safe environment and to elevate their understanding of music, hopefully transforming it into a passion as done to me.
I plan to teach music theory beginners and to provide them with the knowledge needed to succeed as musicians at a pre-tertiary level, although I am willing to teach all ages regardless of study or schooling. I teach directly and address all difficulties at the root of the problem. All students learn differently, so I aim to teach every individual in a way that works best for them.
My teaching method is entirely dependent on the individual - i.e. what he/she wants to learn, has questions about, doesn't understand, etc. My philosophy of music is a bit like a target - a ring of concentric circles. We start where you're at and push as far out as we can. It's all connected, but I teach in stages, so as to equip the individual at each stage, not only at the end.
Every one of us is unique, and so it is essential that an intuitive learning approach that focuses on the individuality of the student is employed. Raising the awareness of your inner self is the best way to open the floodgates on your innovation and ability.
I learn best by a combination method of hearing the song for rhythm, and reading the song for technique. Whether you or your child wants to learn to play using emotion as the foundation or impressive technique, we can work on that.
Every student learns differently and wants to get something different out of playing music. My lessons are individually tailored to suit each students needs. I believe in helping students to achieve a better understanding of how music works theoretically, so they can better appreciate the material they are working on and use it when creating their own compositions.
I always start with a warm-up, sirens and lip bubbles. Then I move onto simple vowel sounds, then moving onto scales and arpeggios - building your diaphragm strength and increasing your range. Then help with melodies by breaking down every section of the form. I make your tone come through, by helping your breath support and dialect.
I like to focus on practical methods over theory but I still mix the two to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and skill. I believe that focusing on practical methods over theory in the beginning ensures my students stay interested and motivated to learn their instrument.
My teaching method is one-on-one, giving confidence, support and encouragement in privacy. The reading skills and practical are incorporated together in the lessons, enabling students to realise that, by daily practice at home, being able to play the piano is very achievable and enjoyable. A practice plan is written out each lesson based on the individual student's progress.
I like to teach via demonstration and then refining demonstrated techniques with an interactive analysis and break down of the movements
Catering lessons to Musicians to their specific requirements and needs, Genre or Technique Specific studies etc.
I believe all lessons should be focused around the student and their needs. I'd like to start by identifying exactly what the student is having trouble with. From there we can move on to reading music and perhaps playing a few small pieces. I think any student with a positive attitude and a bit of persistence will find these lessons helpful.
I have had students of all ages and levels Graduate students to preschool. I normally talk to the students to understand what they really want to get out of lessons talk about the history of music and offend listen to music each lesson.
My teaching method is asses where the student is at and supply what is needed. With long hours behind me it is easy for me to see what mistakes are holding a player back so I can prescribe material to satisfy their need.
I am passionate about developing singing voices that are healthy, strong and unique! I teach all ages, but particularly love assisting students through the foundations of healthy singing, picking songs that suit your voice and working on vocal technique through exercises and song work.
i approach my lessons based on the student, by analysing their playing style, their preference in music and what they enjoy playing.
