The methodology that I use to teach, depends on how many people are going to be inside the room. If it is just one (what I recommend) I have to see if this person has some experience in music or if it is the first time. Also, if the person wants to learn just for fun, or if needs my help to do some audition, for school or orchestra.

I believe that practice makes perfect and that is exceptionally true in music. However, I believe that time is also needed for musicality to develop within the individual. My teaching method is is two pronged. Firstly, I like to give my students an understanding of chords and how they fit into a song from a theory and a practical point of view. This stems from my years of guitar playing. Secondly, I like to get my students playing simple melodies, playing from sheet music and playing by ear. Then WHAM - we join these two together.
My lessons typically consist of finding out where the student is on a technical and playing level, what they are interested in learning and then developing a long term plan that is designed to push them forwards in their playing and musicianship.
My teaching method is unique to each student. I don't go by rules when it comes to music classes. There are basic things that the student will be learning about guitar and music in general but other than that there is no hard and fast rule.
