My teaching approach always considers the specific needs and experience of the student. From the basics in music theory and composition to more advanced subjects, I'll always make sure learning is structured and paced appropriately. You'll learn many of the theoretical aspects of theory/composition as well as growing your own unique approach to learning about and writing music.
I use textbooks for beginners and have an extensive library of my own transcriptions, as well as my own Chord Dictionary(2,100 chord shapes). I usually teach one on one although I conduct many workshops at various folk and bluegrass festivals.
The aim of my lessons is to provide students with the techniques required to develop excellent habits, which can always lead to excellent results if practised. For the first few weeks, students will be guided through a healthy vocal warm up to start each lesson, but ideally, in due course they will be able to warm up on their own before the lesson in order to maximise the time we have.
My approach to teaching is centred around finding out how you learn and what gives you the most enjoyment out of music.
Teaching is all about supporting, and inspiring your students, and that's exactly what I want to do. As well as teaching good trumpet technique, I'm all about teaching how to play musically and with passion. I take into account each student's situations and can plan accordingly.
I am a session guitarist, music producer and film and TV composer with thirty years experience in the music industry. My guitar lessons are geared towards contemporary playing styles from beginner to advanced. My teaching philosophy is based on finding a balance between learning the technical aspects of music and ensuring that students have fun and enjoy learning how to play the music they like.
My teaching method is to learn how to sing freely with good technique as to not to hurt the voice. We work on correct breathing, posture, pitch, dynamics, diction. Learn how to sing in a fun environment .
I aim for a friendly and interactive environment where students can freely interact and provide ideas. Flute lessons will include: warming up activities, technical skills, a range of repertoires, duets, opportunities to perform in front of an audience, and many more. I believe students achieve a great outcome when they enjoy learning.
After personally struggling with music theory in school I learnt many short cuts and different ways to approach situations. This is something I find really important because one way doesn’t work for everyone.
My teaching methodology is to get my students learning songs as quickly as possible, but without neglecting basic theory and technique. Lessons will involve structured learning, with a hands on demonstrated approach with an engaging teaching method. I believe that a passion for the instrument must be maintained through the learning process.
I intend to sit down with my student/s and find out exactly what and why they want to learn. From there we will explore the students favourite music and styles and I will teach them everything I know to help them achieve their goal/dream.
I believe that every student is different, and with some concepts being difficult to grasp, the approach to success requires flexibility. My philosophy in learning is ensuring that students understand the basics of music, while concurrently applying the acquired knowledge and skills to music which the student can then perform.
I have a creative and flexible approach and have highly developed musicianship, vocal, stagecraft and performance abilities. By setting realistic expectations and using positive reinforcement, I aim to create a fun environment that is conducive to learning for both child and adult alike.
I primarily gear my lessons towards those who are willing to learn and practice. However my course would depend on the desired genres which the student is wishing to learn. For more classical/jazz/blues related genres I would mostly encourage sight-reading practice in addition to genre-specific techniques such as finger picking, complex chords, non-conventional time signatures, etc.
My teaching method is to understand the student and working out the best solution that works for individual to thrive their musical potential.
My teaching methodology is founded on good technique and an understanding of musicality, modelled from the head of guitar at the ANU, Associate Professor Timothy Kain. I believe that there is no point to playing any instrument unless you are enjoying yourself. Enjoyment stems from a sense of achievement when you play a piece musically and with good technique.

During my Trumpet Lessons, I spark an interest in the minds of children and teenagers for music and musicianship. I prepare students for AMEB exams, performances and school band requirements by communicating concepts and implementing various strategies according to the students’ learning ability.

Rodric is a patient sympathetic teacher who is thorough in giving a student an organised approach to achieving their musical goals in which ever style of music for which they have a passion. Rodric ensures that students develop a natural piano technique, excellent reading skills and a sure sense of rhythm. Rodric also wishes to make the music lessons he gives an enjoyable and fun experience.
I base all my methods on analysing the students skill and mindset to see what types of techniques are required to learn and keep them focused and motivated with ideas and inspiration that I've experienced over the past 20 years.
My teaching method is to progress in comfort and inspire self-development. Every student learns for different reasons and enjoys music differently. Music is a diverse and eternal art with so many styles and origins from all over the world.
I will help you to achieve outstanding results by clear instructions, using simple teaching methods. I have enjoyed teaching all ages...from 7 year olds to 80 year olds. I cater for students who enjoy music styles from Pop to Jazz, Techno, Contemporary and Classical.
Everyone learns differently. I focus on your strengths. You may prefer certain songs and I can choose some for you. Lessons are built on a step by step process giving you a solid foundation for playing confidently. We use technical workbooks, theory books and music books for an all round basic musical education.
I like to personalise my teaching method for each student. Each student has their own flare and own personality that shows in the instrument. I want to encourage students to find their own musical personality and to allow that to influence everything they play, whether it be scales/warm ups or pieces. As well as pieces, we will work on scales, posture, breathing, timbre, embouchure, and much more.
I am a 20 year old male, who is very interested in meditation, yoga and music. Much of my teaching is based on encouragement to persevere and flourish in their own personal practice, which is different for every individual. I can and have worked with various individuals and crafted a practice and routine designed for them and their strengths.
My teaching method is traditional but is very focused on individual needs. Whilst my background is western classical, I appreciate that students may want to explore other genres - exploring jazz, rock and musical theatre for example. Over the past 4 years since I started teaching in Brisbane from home and I have helped over 15 students of varying ages.
Development of a healthy technical foundation including breath management skills, body awareness and style appropriate vocal techniques as well as the skills required to perform. A fun and relaxed environment for all ages and levels of experience to learn and achieve personal goals.
My teaching is based on approaching each student individually and tailor programs to suit both their interest and their level of playing. I do believe in learning to read rhythm notation. I also use a large amount of playalong (pedagogic) music.
