I can make the topics interesting and am very patient. If a student is struggling, I try to find the right "handle" to use to allow the student to understand the concept. I teach math because I enjoy watching students catch on to a concept. I also enjoy it when a student who did not previously value math, becomes very interested and self-motivated to learn more.
As a student athlete mentor I base my teaching methodology of encouraging a healthy lifestyle both in the classroom and out in the sports field. I will not say I strictly follow text books. But I do give extreme importance to the basics of any topic. If the building foundation is not strong enough, the whole building will fall down. I believe every student should be at least aware of all the approaches there is to a problem, and choose a solution most fit for the problem. I think that exercises the mind and expands knowledge.
