As a tutor, the key is to listen carefully to the students’ individual needs, personality and learning style, in order to identify and bring clarity to the areas requiring support. It is essential to build rapport, to encourage and motivate, to develop a safe and supportive space. The key to learning is feeling relaxed, heard and valued.
I support school students in areas requiring assistance- allowing them to work at their own pace, ensuring they thrive and improve. My structure of lessons is dependant on the individual and their needs- this requires an additional 30 mins for first session in order to identify the individuals learning needs and build rapport.
My teaching methodology is firm, but gentle. I believe in reformative practices, and continuous reporting. I value a growth mindset.
I am 38 and I am best suited to children from 5 to 11 years of age. I have years of experience with children struggling at school and finding homework difficult. I have a degree and love working with children.
I aim to support the child in line with their classroom teacher and provide supplementary learning when gaps are identified. Where possible I would provide practice as part of games or enjoyable activities. I always attempt to appeal to a child’s interests and creativity.
I allow my students to take the wheel on where they want to go and what they want to do with each session. I work with students to concentrate on grammatical aspects and suggest ideas in relation to essay writing and reports. All tutoring sessions will be tailored to the students' needs. I am offering to draft work online or meet in person at the Adelaide City Library.
I am more than happy to work with the various needs of all students, whether it be working through assessment pieces, improving reading comprehension, or improving literacy skills. My lessons will cater to the present needs outlined by the student and/or guardian.
My teaching philosophy is centred on understanding. My belief is that if a student has the proper groundwork in place, they can achieve anything! Hence, my focus tends not to be on just completing a specific assignment or essay but on a deeper comprehension of texts and questions.
I enjoy working one on one with students, focusing our work on their particular needs in the area of literacy. I work mainly with younger primary students and focus on improving literacy as a means to improve all other areas of learning. Lessons often include a revision of phonograms and the application of spelling rules in English.
i am generate toward high school and primary school migrants. my lesson structure would loook like reading from a esl book and/or a english ielts book.
My teaching method focuses on building and maintaining positive and respectful student-tutor correspondence in order to provide effective guidance and support in literacy, composing texts, academic writing and secondary education English studies and other areas of academic need.
-I am a very warm individual, so lessons with me will not be like your school lessons! I aim to support, relax and assist my students with their studies by easing stress and calmly and patiently working with you. -I am heavily resource-based.
I've always been a very personable teacher, one who is very approachable and easy to get along with. Students can be relaxed in my presence and they shouldn't feel pressured or anxious about making mistakes. We all make mistakes and that's how we learn and improve.
I like to use an interactive approach and work closely with what the student is leaning at school. I provide help with homework.
My teaching method is guided by the individual. Everyone learns differently, and I work with my students to find the best way for them to succeed. Using everyday life as the base, so that what I am teaching is relevant and innovative.
My methodology is largely inquiry-based, supported by strong knowledge and understanding of traditional educational practices. ( Though I promote and facilitate personal expression, I value accuracy of grammar and spelling.) I make use of formative assessment throughout the learning process.
I am passionate about play based learning in which focuses on children's interests to help develop further knowledge. My lessons will focus on the Big 6 of learning to read and write. I will develop lessons individualised to your child's unique needs. The professional development I have engaged in has focused on developing literacy skills, please see my CV for further details.
I like to take a fun and direct approach to learning where learning is achieved at a pace which is applicable to the student. Each student learns in a different way and I believe that having patience and understanding with students about the way they learn is key in them moving forward and developing a deeper understanding.
My teaching methodologies differ between inquiry based, student centred learning and direct teaching. This is dependent on what lesson and content is being taught and the skills and interests of my students. I have a strong belief that students should be independent learners and a teacher should only be there as support in this process.
My approach is to certainly acknowldege what needs work but importantly, to notice what is done right and build on this. My lessons are geared towards univeristy students, particularly in the Humanities and English as a Second Language students.
My personal teaching philosophy is inspired by American educator, Rita Pierson. In her inspirational TED talk "Every Kid Needs a Champion", she poignantly states that "kids don't learn from people they don't like!". This statement truly resonates with me, and I believe education should be centred around human connection and meaningful relationships.
I do my best to work at the student's pace so they don't become overwhelmed. I discover what their learning language is (be it through verbal cues, visual cues, etc) and find ways to use that to teach them. I am very patient and understanding, so I am able to work with students who have a harder time understanding what is expected of them and what they need to do.
My teaching method depends on the learner and their preferred learning style. Typically, I use discussion and practical approaches and avoid lecturing. I find that it's essential to build rapport with my students in order to increase their motivation, so this is a focus at the beginning.
I enjoy working with my students ensuring that we widen their scope of knowledge by incorporating the use of videos, chants, songs and rhymes. I base my classes on the topics which are covered in school and where they might need further help. Therefore, I need to know beforehand what to cover so that I have sufficient time to prepare.
I find a hands on approach makes learning much easier, however I am able to adapt and work with however you or your child may work best.
I specialise in working with primary and junior primary students who need support with their reading, phonological awareness, spelling, writing and hand writing. I spend some time to assess the student and from there, I work out a tailored program to improve skills, fill in gaps and help the young person gain confidence.
I am a very enthusiastic tutor. I believe it is important to incorporate some kind of fun activity when working children. First I try to get to know the student, then plan the schedule according to what they are comfortable with.
I have lived in three countries and have a very wide understanding and general knowledge. I’ve also learned a bit about counselling and will help students feel more comfortable and confidant. I like to devise games and things which make learning new things easier.
