I have had very strict teachers in the past as well as very gentle ones. I think that the kind of teaching method that works best depends entirely on the person being taught, sometimes you need to be kicked into practicing regularly and taking it seriously and other times you need a teacher who will give you a confidence boost and help you to enjoy music.
Every student is different, and whether your studying theory or voice truth is it can be difficult, I have a fun approach to teaching theory, that normally has students in stitches, my main aim is that you don't see vocal activities or theory as a bore, I want to help you love your craft!

I coach people in finding their own voice in their expression. You will learn all the basics of jazz singing (rhythm, melody, song interpretation and improvisation) and learn to find your own style and deal with issues that prevent that perhaps, lack of confidence or direction.
I like to set a certain song to teach my students. This way I can teach the techniques first and then teach how to implement them in the song of their choice. For example if I was teaching a jazz song I was so the techniques needed within the genre and then help them implement the technique. This way the student can see their own progress after each session.
