My teaching method is getting students to read music notation first so that they can become independent in reading music to insure they feel confident and comfortable knowing what they are playing. From there its just teaching the students all music theory and general knowledge.
I work on building students' basic skills and extend their exposure of a wide range of listening and performance activities. Goals are set in each area of the lessons e.g. Working up to performance. Active participation of students in the lesson process is encouraged. Technology is developed as a powerful learning tool.
I will teach people by example and also use internet to assist, I am a mature guy with good knowledge for those with an interest to learn how to play for enjoyment and play songs using chords and notes
I love teaching beginners, watching them develop their skills and grow into their own guitar players, I find it extremely rewarding. I believe everybody learns at their own rate and should be encouraged to develop their techniques in that manner. I consider myself to be a very patient and supportive teacher. The thing to remember, it should be rewarding, but most importantly fun.
I like to start by asking the student their favourite song that they want to learn. We then learn it! Along the way I introduce the relevant theory but only as much as is needed and as deep as the student wishes to go. I can tailor to any student. I feel there is initially a joy in music that leads the student to want to learn and I wish to foster and use this joy.
My lessons typically consist of finding out where the student is on a technical and playing level, what they are interested in learning and then developing a long term plan that is designed to push them forwards in their playing and musicianship.
My approach is to first get people used to the instrument, learn their favourite songs from scratch, and use their own unique gifts. No student is the same, and I make guitar fun to play and learn.
I work from guitar and lute tutor books supplimented by pieces from the repertoire as required. An ideal lesson lasts 3/4 hr .
i normally start all my guitar students with chords. because to enjoy playing guitar you need to feel it first. after that they will have to go trull line and spaces to know how to read music on sheet.

Think of me like Yoda, but taller and less green. I teach music because I love music, and I want to be able to share that with people! My methods of teaching differ based upon the person, their age, and their experience with music. I want students who are eager to learn an instrument or how to read music. I'm not looking for students who are being forced into taking lessons.
I base my approach on what is the objective. I build smaller goals based on that objective, and attain it one at a time. Though time is of the essence, I believe that when learning is concerned, it is best for it to take time. If an approach doesn't work, I don't force it. Instead, I try a different way.
Most of my students are school age children, but I have experience teaching adults too. Levels of teaching go from beginner to intermediate with emphasis in chords, scales and music reading. I can teach for half an hour or one hour, depending on the student needs.
We agree on a goal. What is it you want to be? Then we design the road map together. We then execute based on timelines and consistent practice and check ups as we build your technique and confidence. Until we both agree that we hit the goal.
