I teach beginner guitar using the teaching book ‘Progressive Beginner Guitar, by Gary turner. If the student just wants to learn rhythm guitar. I can teach them chords using my own knowledge or by using Progressive beginner guitar Chords by Gary Turner. All books would need to be either purchased by the student. Or reimburse the cost to me during the lesson.
Unlike most tutors I have interacted with, my key approach to tutoring any student is to make sure that they are having fun. Progress and improvement is always a given key objective, but sometime the fun in just learning and playing an instrument can be lost.
Using a Reggio Emilio philosophy of utilising the student's interests to advance in playing and reading music for guitar and percussion.
I am very passionate about music of all genres (contemporary, rock, funk, etc.) I have taught music theory, practical knowledge, basic skills and song-writing. And from the experience of teaching these years, I think I am a good teacher who can make students feel comfortable and safe, and I love to encourage them so often times my students all progress A LOT within just in a few months.
I am a session guitarist, music producer and film and TV composer with thirty years experience in the music industry. My guitar lessons are geared towards contemporary playing styles from beginner to advanced. My teaching philosophy is based on finding a balance between learning the technical aspects of music and ensuring that students have fun and enjoy learning how to play the music they like.
I primarily gear my lessons towards those who are willing to learn and practice. However my course would depend on the desired genres which the student is wishing to learn. For more classical/jazz/blues related genres I would mostly encourage sight-reading practice in addition to genre-specific techniques such as finger picking, complex chords, non-conventional time signatures, etc.
My teaching methodology is founded on good technique and an understanding of musicality, modelled from the head of guitar at the ANU, Associate Professor Timothy Kain. I believe that there is no point to playing any instrument unless you are enjoying yourself. Enjoyment stems from a sense of achievement when you play a piece musically and with good technique.
I base my approach on what is the objective. I build smaller goals based on that objective, and attain it one at a time. Though time is of the essence, I believe that when learning is concerned, it is best for it to take time. If an approach doesn't work, I don't force it. Instead, I try a different way.
I like to teach by guiding a student along, from the basics to the more advanced material. I'd like to be teaching a student how to play the guitar as if it's second nature, and generally would like things to be light-hearted and fun.
Hi there! :) I am Wyandrhine and I am an 18 year old high school graduate from Northpine Christian College. I believe my music education in and outside of school, practical experiences, self-learning, and my enthusiastic and outgoing personality would make me your great tutor.
My lessons are geared towards students of any genre and level as I have experience working in a wide range of settings.
Most of my students are school age children, but I have experience teaching adults too. Levels of teaching go from beginner to intermediate with emphasis in chords, scales and music reading. I can teach for half an hour or one hour, depending on the student needs.
- Lessons are customised to suit every individual students goals and requirements. - Tuition needs to be a fun challenge & genuinely engaging to be effective. - Learning materials and student specific practice plans are supplied.
I base my classes off of solid foundation and nailing the simple things in order to make the more difficult parts of learning guitar much more intuitive and simple. Lessons can be guided by the student's interests or I can help a student figure out what is best for their improvement (this is especially helpful for beginners).
My teaching method is based upon what I've learnt over the years as a student myself (I'm still learning new things every day).
I emphasize my teachings on practice, passion with the instrument and most of all - having FUN! Familiarization with the instrument is foremost. I teach the student the basics of reading notes and guitar tablature. Practice exercises are given on each session. Finger and strumming dexterity is also developed.
I believe that music is a fluid and living form of expression. As each person is different so too will be their musical style, practice and mentality be. Because of this, I tailor my lessons to the students needs, hoping to nurture and grow the untapped potential of everyone single person.
My teaching is based upon gaining an understanding of what the student wants to get out of learning the guitar and move forward with a fun and structured approach to achieve that goal, whether that be to learn songs, follow a formal grading route, develop technique or learn new skills - beginner to advanced.
I start everyone off playing simple music in a style they are familiar and engaged in to get them comfortable on their instrument, then use their own personal goals and intentions with the instrument to guide their progression.
People learn differently and therefore different teaching methods are required for each different student. Kinetic engagement is a demand of most musical pursuits but some people benefit from a strong grounding in music theory before advancing with hands on training.
I have had no teaching experience before but I believe and my piano teacher believes I will make a great teacher for younger children or beginner pianist, saxophonist, cellists and guitarists to help get them kick started on their musical journey.
I have been teaching students of all ages since 2014 and believe in catering each lesson to the individual.
I do not believe that there is only one right way to learn music. The influences and goals that shape one's musical path are different for everybody. As such, I believe that each individual's education should be tailored to them and their needs. I design all lesson plans on a case by case basis to help you become the musician you want to be.
We will focus on coordination, music reading scales, speed and chords for improve your groove and feeling. Also we can work on specific songs that you might want to learn and play and we will learn a bit of music theory.
My way of teaching is from my many years of playing shows, practicing, teaching and just being a musician as well. I can identify what problems the individual needs to become more aware of and I create lessons according to what he/she needs to learn to become proficient in that area.
I gained my strong foundation in the areas of Music Theory and Harmony, Musical Composition, vocal pop and knowledge and understanding in popular and jazz music. My areas of expertise are playing guitar and teaching Baroque, Classical, Spanish, Flamenco, Persian, Mediterranean and South American music.
I'm very easygoing, fun and passionate about music. I get along with everyone very easily. Learning with me will be like going on a carnival, full of fun and games. I'm very dedicated towards my students. I'll always be ready to help my students in any way.

The way you want to play guitar, and the kind of music you are used to listen to will define the structure of the lessons. Obviously you won't be able to play like a rock star the first time and without any guitar bases. That is why I suggest a standard lesson structure: - Basic advice: how to hold the guitar; tune the guitare; change the strings, which position for the fingers ...
