My principle is that you learn better in a relaxed environment. Reading German texts together makes it less exhausting. I also like to write my own texts for translations in an exciting topic for you. Sometimes you just have to practice.
Hallo Leute! It's Mike from Germany! UQ master exchange student based in Brisbane.
First of all you will learn the basics of german. If you are interested in a special area I could teach you the vocabulary and good expressions for it. Together we could listen to german music, watch german videos or read texts, so you can learn by doing.
I have always found didactic teaching in my years of school and university very ineffective. I only understand the use and value of new knowledge if I know how to apply it - through exercises and interactive practice. I will not give monologues to tutoring students, but help them understand what they are learning.
I develop your classes towards your specific needs and interests. If you are a total beginner who wishes to travel to Germany, for example, I cannot only teach you the basics but also a bit about the country, the people and the culture. I am looking forward to learning about your German language interests.
My teaching method is to have fun while learning with for example games, songs or simple books to learn the basics of the language and then increase the level from there slowly. I love teaching others what I know and have great patience so no need to worry to know any words when we start.
From my experiences it is always good to combine several learning techniques, such as visual, auditive or writing. But since everyone has their individual style, it is good to focus on that.
My teaching is more geared towards beginner students studying German, as a supplement to a structured course for students who need or want additional help with tasks and assignments, or those who would like a little extra help with revising previously covered material.
My teaching methodology is through speaking, reading and hearing every word and sentence. I will talk, read and listen to the topic the student has chosen. Always practice and answer questions, when asked. That s the best way to learn it.
I start by assessing where my student's skill set is currently at. We then look at where those skills need to be by the end of term. Based on this we can put together a step by step plan on how to get there over the given period of time.
I'm very passionate about languages, so my aim is to share that with any students I tutor - I want you to fall in love with the language you're learning and the culture that comes with it because there's no better way to learn a language. It will not only be grammar exercises over and over - I make the learning fun and more interactive than that.
I have a holistic approach to teaching. For example, learning Maths skills can be helped by having good Literacy skills -- A good understanding of Science can benefit from a good understanding of History, and so on. Helping students to see these connections is vital.
My main teaching methodology, regarding teaching launguage, is use of the Launguage immersion technique, in which you attempt to teach the target launguage in that launguage with use of as little of the students mothertounge as possible.

My teaching begins with ascertaining the needs of my students. Once these have been established I will present a range of activities within a chosen topic to work on the areas of focus, such as speaking, sentence construction, reading comprehension and so on.
My teaching method is always orientated on the skill level of the student. It is very important for me to understand the facts which are responsible for the lack of knowledge or for causing a specific problem. The target is to close the gaps in knowledge and work specific on these aspects to improve. After revealing the issues it's way more effective to work together and reach the necessary target.
I base my classes on what you would like to learn. You set the goals of what you would like to learn and together we work on achieving them. The topics and methods are flexible- I am a firm believer that learning is supposed to be interesting and fun.
I prefer one-to-one teaching in order to encourage students to interact with me as much as possible. However, I am also open to teach smaller groups of up to 4 people. The first session will be focused on assessing your German skills and defining your goals in order to set up an individual learning plan according to your needs.
In general, I have different teaching experience both with groups of different age and education level (children, teenagers, students, adults) as well as individual training one-on-one. I am a trained social worker which gives me additional pedagogical understanding and abilities.

I spent a lot of my childhood in Germany, and I still visit my family in Berlin every year. I will teach German to anyone who wants to either learn the basics, or build on what they already know. Depending on the student's prior knowledge of German, I will teach them grammar, pronunciation, written German, and conversational German, and any other help they may need.
I am an Education student completing my BA (Hons) this year and passionate about bilingual education. I would like to hear more people and students speaking German and support everyone who is keen to refresh their language skills.
I always was an esthusiastic student myself and still love to learn new things. For me the secret of being an effective learner is an interest for the subject. The highest motivation is being interested in learning. This motivation rises with the experience of gaining knowledge in a subject. That is way it is important to offer each student the possibility to learn in his own speed.
My approach is to talk and write as much as possible to practice the everyday conversations. After building the foundation other topics can be taught. I always try teach everyone individually. so you can come up with your own topics.
I design my lessons according to the student's individual needs and current curriculum. It is important for me to use both the material provided in school (if applicable) and new material for the student to see the topics in a broad context, usually relating them to real-life scenarios.
