My tutoring technique begins with identifying my student's strong point for learning, whether that be using visual or auditory memory tools. I will never use ROTE learning for content, and prefer to use SRS learning (Spaced Repetition System, or consistent recall), combined with the use of mnemonics, rhymes and other techniques which utilise the brain's most sensitive learning methods.
I have always been convinced on the benefits of both problem-based learning or any other method which works on the analytical skills of the students rather than the mere passing of information. This is why I prefer to engage with students in a conversation more than proper lecturing.
2 year experience working as a private tutor. I have also worked as a professional marker, editor, and proof-reader for a variety of companies. I have worked at a number of schools in Melbourne, and am experienced in interacting with a broad range of age groups. I am 19 years of age.
My teaching method is based on what the needs of the student, and then develop lessons based based on that in order to help them enjoy what they learn.
My teaching will adapt to each students needs. For instance, a lesson structured around learning a new topic will contain an overview of the subject, the main studies that support and challenge and the application of PEEL to forming a successful essay. For improvements in grammar and structure, I will take a piece of a students work and breakdown where the short falls are.
My teaching methodology is geared around each individual student. Depending on the needs and goals of the student my methodology is incorporative of a variety of approaches. My goal is to be personable with my students as to inspire improvement and a desire to study.
I believe the easiest way to understand something is to develop a passion for it. Therefor it is my job to make the content you need to learn something you're also interested in and at the very least something you can relate to.
I'm a friendly, 26 year old, easy going VCA student who has been making short films and exploring different cultures for the past six years. I offer development of skills and knowledge in practical filmmaking, cinema studies and secondary school media. I also offer conversational english lessons to foreign students.
I teach two different types of students, ones who are really struggling through geography and looking 25-30 study scores and ones who are aiming for 45+. I take two different approaches with each type of student.
I am very dedicated to finding an individual study plan for each of my students. I use a casual, down to earth approach to help students to develop their study, writing and learning skills. I am quite bubbly and energetic, and am very passionate about sociology.
I am passionate about international politics, economics, sociology, public policy and other subjects related to power, society and how we live. My students benefit from my ability to translate confusing theory into everyday practical examples. I believe all students have the capacity to succeed in their studies with the right guidance. I think learning should be a fun and rewarding experience.

My personal pedagogy is to ensure all students have a growth mindset and can reach their goals. I work with the current curriculum as well as the students own goals to create an individualised learning plan that consists of reachable goals so that the student is not set up for failure. I believe any student can achieve a high standard of work when given the right tools to do so.
I teach using basic mnemonic devices and helping students to make the content more relate bale and fun where possible. Happy focused students achieve the best results. Ideally my tutoring skills will best support students from year 10-12.
I have recently graduated from a Masters of Teaching and am interested in sharing my skills and experience. I cater my lessons to the student using fun and creative activities! I asses the current skills of each student and identify areas of improvement. I believe that all students are capable of excellence.
My teaching method is trying to break things down as simply as possible, trying to guide students as much as I can but give them some independence to learn for themselves. I personally use repetition and small quizzes to help myself learn.
My methodology is quite flexible and is based on your needs as a student. I understand that everyone has different ways and speeds of learning and this is something that I have acknowledged in the past in tutoring. My lessons are geared towards students who are struggling in history or are doing well and want that extra boost to their final mark.
My teaching method differs due to my preference to cater for different ages and levels of students.
The best process for learning history is to ensure that you have a base to work off, this would mean learning essay structure and format. Then it would be best to develop critical analytical understanding and finally rope learning the theory, dates and facts.
Journalism subjects need to be taught both theoretically and practically. I plan to teach my students in a combination of theory and practical as well. If it's a subject such as reporting or editing, I will give a theoretical knowledge alongside a practical assignment.
Tutoring is for VCE 20th Century History - I love conversation and discussion, and love to teach engaged and passionate students who strive to learn. My tutoring will suit talkative and extroverted students. I am very in depth with my knowledge of 20th century history and I am sure a student looking to know the century inside out will benefit greatly.
I believe that students guide their own learning; I cannot take the material and make you magically learn it. As such, I base my teachings in a collaborative nature - Students should come geared with questions and an inquisitive mind. We will work together to tackle difficult questions and ensure that by the end of it you have a clear understanding.
