For me, it is essential to work with you on concrete projects according to your day-to-day interests. I build all my lessons from an action-based perspective: I like to integrate games into the phases of my lessons to make them fun and interactive.
I love making my classes interactive with quizzes and games because I believe that it's a better way for people to get engage and as well understand. I put a lot of emphasis on homework I prepare myself which I think is good for better learning.

At first I have to find out what is the goal of the person who wants to learn French and to be able to respond to her needs as much as possible. I try to find texts to work on matching the interest, activities or profession of the person. I choose text introducing grammar topics, so when the vocabulary is understood we can start training on this grammatical topics with exercises.
As everyone is unique, I love to talk and feel which is the best approach for each student - and from there go beyond our current language knowledge :)
I try not to be too rigid about my approach. It depends on my student. It is all about creating a fun and creative lesson that would be interesting for everyone. I tend to use various material such as audio and visual ones.

My recent experience as a VCE student and my current casual work with secondary students provide me with an insight into the expectations placed on students in order for them to succeed.
Depending of the student goals with the lessons, I would have different methodology. If the person just want to learn another language, I think discussion and oral understanding is a good way to get started. For more advanced student, I like to go deeper into grammar (we all know how complicated it can be!) and also learn new expressions and vocabulary.

my teaching method. i would say that i don't spoon feed my students which means that research work has to be done. Homework will be given at the end of each class i believe this will help the student to go deeper in the subject. I used to illustrate all my lessons. According to your need, your age and your level, you will learn about the French culture, including food, monuments, policies, geography, history, arts (cinema, music, paintings). The topics are huge, and you can speak together about your interest to make your teaching class as nice as possible.
My method usually is to pick a theme for the class and then we just work around that and see where it leads us. I like to use french litterature or article related to the chosen theme ! I usually let the student take his own notes that I read afterwards and see what could be improved in his writings.
For me, doing well in French came from not only hard work, but also a very solid understanding of the foundations of French. I spent a lot of time thoroughly understanding the grammar and sentence constructions, before going on and extending them into complex ways. On top of that, I tried to understand concepts from multiple angles before applying it through rigorous practice.
I structure my classes depending on the student's level and goals. If they are studying for an exam, that will be the focus, however if they simply want to improve their pronunciation then we will play some fun pronunciation games.
I believe that students must be given the freedom to speak his mind and his difficulties as this is the only way to get into the core of the subject. Students comes with different capabilities and there should different methods to correspond with the students.
