I am a visual learner, spending most of my personal study time through flashcards, colours and all things energetic. For me, learning isn't about what you're teaching, it's about who you are teaching and I believe that this can be different for a lot of people. My aim is to get to know an individual's learning strengths before I decide what methodology is best.
My experience with language learning is that having an effective teacher can make a world of difference. So, in my lessons, I strive to be engaging and make the lessons enjoyable and interesting, whilst simultaneously being useful and rigorous. I also believe the lessons should be mostly student-centred.
My name is Olivia Gravier, I am from Lyon, France, and now live in Adelaide, South Australia. I am a passionate French native speaker and teacher, eager to help students who are keen to learn French for a variety of reasons. My teaching philosophy is based on the Growth Mindset, where you don't know something...yet.
My teaching method will include you bringing any problems to me and I'll do my best to make sure you understand it all while having fun with it. Basically working with the resources that you already have and building up from there.
I love working with children and make them feel proud of themselves. I want children to enjoy time of studying and learn a lot at the same time. I am very patient and will always take the time that the child needs! I hate that the child is bored while studying so I always try to make the lesson enjoyable and interesting for the child.
I can help you in different areas such as the pronunciation, the grammar, the writing, the understanding. I try to have a fun way of teaching by using videos or fun texts.
My teaching lessons will be based on a different theme every time, and with this theme we will learn the vocabulary attached to it, the prononciation, and put the different word learn in sentences. I can occasionally have a lesson in the form of game. The first session i will decide with you what area ou want to work on, and do adapted course.
I adjust my methods as much as I can to the individual needs of each student -- I cannot expect everyone to learn the same way. A typical first lesson with me will involve discussing what you already know of French and expanding on it, helping you to build a strong foundation so you can pick up new concepts easily.
I am generally described as a bubbly, friendly person and would want that to come over in my lessons. I would generally assess the level a student is at with their understanding and speech and go from there, covering vocabulary and oral expression. My main goal while teaching is to ensure a student is confident and comfortable.
I work as a receptionnist in a hotel in Belgium but I've always wanted to teach French. This job is for me a good opportunity and I will be pleased to share my knowledge. I've already given some lessons, and usually we discuss together and when I find regularly mistakes I explain the point of grammar or conjugation.

I'm really passionate by sharing my culture and my maternal tongue. The method I use is "Alter Ego +", associated with FLE exercices/techniques.
Lessons are 1 hour minimum. I can help you on everything that relates to the French language: vocabulary, accent, grammar, expressions... Please advise me in advance on the points you would like to work on so I can prepare appropriate exercises.
I approach topic by separating writing, understanding and speaking. I think that it is easier to learn how to speak french and understand first and then start to write it. I usually recommend people to watch certain movies in french with subtitles in their language too between 2 classes so we can talk about it after, making them practice the understanding and speaking.
