I'm a practicing textile and surface design artist and am passionate about creating vibrant, bold, and beautiful textiles full of colour, texture, pattern, depth and complexity. My favourite techniques include Shibori, the Japanese art of shaped resist dyeing; printing using handmade stamps, stencils and found objects; and fabric dyeing.
My teaching method is understand which way each student learns best and what they are interested in, eg. If they are formulaic and like to precise we will force of paper pattern making but if they are looser and more feelings driven then we will focus of draping to create patterns.
