I aim to make sessions interesting while putting students at ease. I offer a friendly, supportive opportunity to learn either face to face or over Skype. Lack of self-confidence is often a barrier to learning and I offer reassurance so that students can realise their true abilities.
My teaching methodology is based around what I call 'Deliberate Conversation'. This means having a conversation just like you would with anyone else, but when we come across words that are new, or constructions and idioms that you could use to make your English sound better, we will write them down and practise them, and keep practising them in further lessons.
Theory, Practical and role plays. My lesson are structured for beginners and those with limited understanding of English. It is designed for the student to relax and have fun learning and interacting with different life scenarios so they can relate to. his helps them learn faster and relate to their own way of speaking and culture.
Lessons are usually of 40 minutes duration. Emphasis on inter-action between tutor and student involving conversational English with structured development using a text such as Longman "Cutting Edge" or "New English File". Together we choose a topic, choose the experience and work through the lesson. Materials, as necessary, are provided.
I have a comprehensive understanding of English grammar and engaging teaching methodologies. I am open to tailoring lessons to your specific requirements, whether they be academic English or English for other specific purposes. I am able to give lessons on the UOW campus.
My approach to students is highly personalised. A lesson would break down information into manageable chunks that involve spoken and written practice. I am patient, dedicated, and encouraging to all students, I believe each mind is capable, and with a bit of creativity can tap into their potential.
LESSON 1. Introduction: Programs, instruments ( VST, drum machines ect"), Effects and tools to get started. LESSON 2. How to guide: Creating sounds with virtual studio technology (vst) Working with samples, Creating drum patterns and loops. Lesson 3. How to guide 2.0: A more in depth look into the tools and techniques used to produce any given genre of electronic music for your preferred genre.
I build lessons around topics based on need and relevance to participants. My classes are focused, creative, energetic and interactive, covering all the macro-skills, embedding speaking and listening practice from the start. I believe learning should be fun.
My teaching method is to pair understanding of concept with practical activities geared towards providing students with the skills to independently succeed. I believe in a stress-free learning environment where any question can be asked and any mistake can be made.
I believe it is essential to have creative freedom with light humor in the classroom because it creates a comfortable environment to share thoughts, ideas, and foster serious thinking. I also have a more open teaching structure where the students converse and share ideas with the guidance of a teacher to promote critical thinking.
Within the lesson time, I plan to first go over any homework your child may have and guide them through it. After which your child and I would discuss any areas of their school work that they are struggling with so I may help them. In our initial meeting, I would aim to gather a knowledge of your child's key issue areas, so I can prepare lesson plans that cater to these problem areas.
My teaching methodology is adaptive to the individual. I taught communicative English to Chinese students in 2009. My lesson plans are influenced by the Rassias method.
I adapt various teaching methods to suit students' individual needs. Multimedia and technology are often involved in class to enhance students' interest and motivation for learning.
Intelligible Communication is the target for my students.
My IETLS result was 7.0, including reading 8.0, listening 7.5, writing and speaking 6.5. If you want to booster your reading skills, I'm the one you are looking for. IETLS reading is all about paraphrasing and understanding the meaning of linking words. These will be emphasized in our lessons.
Normally students come to me with areas in which they are struggling and I put together some notes and work sheets for them. We also go through other topics in the subject to make sure you're on top of everything.
My teaching approach is indivually designed for each student as discovering the appropriate way to teach a students is always individual as all students learn differently.
