I teach intensive English in order to rapidly increase your English knowledge and skills, but I teach in a friendly and engaging way, customizing lessons to suit your needs and learning style. Results-driven, e.g. I prepared many students for the GEPT tests in Taiwan and 100% of my students passed both tests every year (over 3 years), compared to a national pass rate of only 11%.
I hold all my students in unconditional positive regard. I am respectful, patient and compassionate. I use empathy to connect and am quite creative in how I convey knowledge. I have worked with people ages 12-82.
I am a positive and proactive person with a very down to earth person with a lot of patience. First I need to assess your requirements, strengths and weaknesses. Then I will tailor a lesson that suits you. I use a variety of teaching methods as every student learns differently. My lessons are fun dynamic and I am sure you will enjoy and benefit from them greatly. Let's pass that exam together.
My teaching method is and has always been focusing on my students' most urgent learning needs to help them gain necessary skills in speaking, writing, reading and listening, acquire confidence in expressing themselves in English, and therefore I practise a personal approach in teaching my students and design classes for them individually.
My teaching method varies from student to student. Well, I do believe that every student has strengths and weaknesses. So, as a tutor it is important to work on the weaker areas by providing the customized study programs based on individual needs. This will result in overall development of the students.
I see where each student is at and work with them step by step through their work together with them. I also provide pop quizzes when they are feeling confident enough! I also like to work with your materials if you prefer...
Strictly no first language spoken during sessions, homework given and fluency is focused over accuracy to build confidence, accuracy comes with practise, but confidence needs to be developed from the beginning. Interactive lessons, with activities and multimedia resources used.
The way I approach the first lesson is to work out skill level, to discuss preferred learning styles, and to deduce what you want to achieve as well as goal setting. From there it depends on age group. For children I include lots of drawing and board games, closing with reading every lesson. For teenagers and adults it will depend on how you learn, what you like to do, and skill level.
I think students get the best results learning English when the approach I use is suited to the way each of them learns and to the reason they want to learn English. I like to be adaptable to what they need. In some cases I use a PPP approach. The first P is for Preparation and demonstration.
My teaching methodology is shaped by you! I customise my teaching and materials to meet your specific needs, goals and learning styles. My aim is to help you improve your speaking, listening, reading, writing and/or grammar skills so that you can study the course you're interested in or get the job you are looking for.
As a multi-strand tutor, it's my pleasure to design alternative learning strategies for my individual students, according to their learning style, hobbies and long term goals. In particular, I love to assist people by incorporating second languages, music and art into the mix..
My teaching method depends on your knowledge and course basic requirement, from there we will determine which rout to take, and with a fully trust that I will teach you with a concept to provide you the best knowledge I got.
I usually try to develop an understanding of what my students require and then structure my lesson plan accordingly. I am a great communicator and try to build rapport with my students to empathize with their requirements so that I can encourage their growth and development in each step of the way.
My teaching methods are based on motivating students to learn as motivation is the key to learning. Practical hands on activities are something that each individual no matter what their backgrounds are will be able to engage with. This is my strategy in teaching.
Grammar and reading/writing/listening skills are given a lot of importance. Handouts with rules and examples are given to the students about the topic. I make sure students write their own notes while given to help them remember faster. I present old answers test papers which are grammatically incorrect and ask the students to identify the mistakes/false answers and give out the correct answers.
In my classroom we work with fun. I am not here to tell you that you are wrong. We work together as a team and learn at a slow pace, so that everyone in the class is understanding and has a chance to speak up if they are struggling. I even like to use find-a-words with my students, this helps with the correct spelling and pronunciation of the words they are searching for.
The method I am using to teach English as a second language is mainly to set up different scenarios and discuss different topics which are relevant to students' life. I would like to encourage students to express themselves bravely and help them to build on more confidence.
I don't like to teach with conventional methods. I use my tried and tested distinct method and also try to incorporate whatever I learned during the CELTA training. I put the students first and try to give solutions to individual problems rather than providing generic solutions.
My teaching method incorporates exercises that I've learnt from Drama and Film. I use a lot of role-play, scripts and performance to engage my students. I use film to document our progress and create scenarios where well-spoken English is essential. I.e. developing an introductory video for a job application.
I base my lessons on the needs of the students. They need to learn what is going to help them achieve what they want to achieve. If a student needs to develop his/her speaking skills to get a job, then that's what we'll work on. It's all about giving students what they need to succeed and achieve their goals.
I like to meet my students in a relaxed setting and create a safe space for us to explore the language without any judgement or criticism. We simply get to know each other. We are both able to pause the conversation to discuss any mistakes or ask any questions. Then we carry on the conversation.
My teaching method is relaxed and easy going. I base my classes on practical application and hands on activities than traditional black board teaching. I believe that learning can be fun and interesting if it is thought in an interesting way.
I evaluate students through verbal and written exams and identify areas needing improvement. My classes are then based on tasked assignments to reinforce learning. I share instant feedback to motivate students to continue learning. My plan of action will align with the student's needs and interests ensuring full engagement from the students at all times.
I can guarantee that my lessons will cater to your ability in addition to being engaging. I value reflective practice, am determined to provide the most suitable methodology to your needs and approach every lesson with a variety of strategies.
Languages are a lot harder to learn when you don't enjoy it. So, I like to keep it fun and adapt it to YOUR needs. What do you want from learning English? Why are you studying? What are your goals? Where do you want to be in the future? By knowing the students' needs, and how they like to learn, we can make lessons interesting and productive.
During my sessions I will try my very hardest to make my students feel as comfortable as possible. In the beginning it would be ideal to get to know who I am working with.
As the English language is popularising and growing exponentially overseas, obtaining sound and proficiency in the language is key to success. Through this, there will be worksheets to compliment your reading, academic vocabulary and listening skills to enhance your English skills.
I use a variety of course books. I also assist students with any course material which they have to study for a university or college course. Any field of interest will be taught. I also use newspapers and other materials which ensure that students practice everyday Australian English. Idioms and colloquial language are explained.
I based my classes according to the students levels and planning lesson and activities based on their preferred learning style and which can make them enjoying the lessons
My teaching philosophy reflects years of experience of working around England, Townsville and Brisbane. I have found that every child, adolescent, and adult has a way to learn, and one of my roles is to distinguish a learning style, and cater materials in order for students to reach potential. I believe learning can be made into a joyous adventure, fun and achievable.
