Our lessons will be good fun, and definitely interactive, as I don't like to be bored! It's all about you! My aim is to help you be confident and gain knowledge at a pace that suits you.
I have a very kind and gentle manner when teaching and I am very patient. I believe practise is key to becoming proficient in English, and other areas. I am more geared towards a traditional learning approach, but can also incorporate some hands-on learning as well.
I achieved an A* in English in my O-levels and that too without any tuition. I can help you speak and write in the same manner through the experiences I have had while moving to Australia which is an English speaking country. My IELTS Score was 7.5 and, as you must have guessed, without tuition. So register with me and learn to speak on an equal level and excel in life.
My name is Kayla and I am currently entering my third year of university. I enjoyed high school English, Ancient History, Study of Religion and Biology. I would be more than happy to help with these subjects! I enjoy proof reading and I would be more than happy to share study tips and essay structures.
Hello Everyone! My name is Bear and I'm an English Tutor here at Superprof. I'm very passionate about language and I know how hard and confusing learning one can be as I've studied different languages myself. I know that every one has a different learning style, goals of fluency and topics they want to learn.
My teaching methodology is completely student centric- from my own experience as a student and tutor, I've come to the conclusion that anyone who does not mold their instruction style for each pupil is doing them a disservice. Doubly so when it comes to English and its diversity of expression in different cultures and eras.
I've taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP) for many years, teaching small classes (averaging about 10 students) in how to use correct grammar and academic language, how to present an effective argument in English, how to structure an academic essay. I've also taught one-on-one to identify specific language issues.
The first lesson will all be about establishing the difficulties with English the student might experience. In my experience, the best way to learn anything, but particularly a language, is through repetition. Most of the time, students just need someone to explain it to them one on one and to have someone who can give them confidence in their abilities.
My teaching philosophy is student-centred. I try to create a relaxed environment in which the learner feels comfortable enough to try their best. I also like to research and prepare exercises myself to meet the needs of the student. I have experience helping learners with academic English, business English, English grammar/ pronunciation and proficiency exam preparation.
I believe people learn through doing, and that people also learn through using different multiple intelligences (Gardner). I like to use different technologies and techniques to get the best out of each student in a catered approach, taking into consideration how you learn.
My teaching methodology is geared towards each individuals learning style and skill level. I embody the philosophy that learning should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, yet I structure disciplined lessons that will improve one's study habits and work efficiency.
In the classroom environment I encourage debate and discussion on familiar and new topics, with written work as a finale to the topic. My interests range from engineering and education; renovation and interior design; conservation and climate change; photography and scrapbooking; alternative medicine and sustainability.
As a teacher, I'm very patient, collaborative, and I love to have fun. I break things down in a way that allows my students to understand each aspect of the bigger picture or concept. It's my goal to have my students work through what they are thinking and learning with me so we can both work together to understand. I strive to make each lesson engaging, informative, and worthwhile.
As a language learner myself, I understand that fluency comes not only from what you learn in textbooks. Language learning requires motivation, self-understanding, efficient techniques and lots of reinforcement, and it is these skills which I prioritise over the traditional 'write and repeat' method.
My teaching methodology includes creating engaging lessons and fostering a positive and nurturing environment to help individuals learn comfortably. I am a positive individual who understands every learner has their own unique way of learning. I like to first understand a bit about who I am working with in order to understand what approach I will take during my lessons.
I am a teacher with a student centred focus with lessons designed around interactive exercises that require students to work together in order to solve English language problems. I have a lot of time for my students and am aware of current teaching methodologies which I incorporate into my lesson plans for more effective outcomes.
My methodology consists of a key emphasis on engaging all students through a range of teaching skills of activities and communication; using a variety of teaching resources within the classroom including quizzes, groupwork and independent work and continuously assessing students.
I am a 29 year old native speaker, from Australia. I work at a school in the CBD called Cambridge College International.
My teaching method is based on the students level and ability to learn. The areas as such that need to be emphasized and focused on more are the primary focus. Phonics seems to be more suited for people who have difficulties with pronounciation etc.
My teaching method is to firstly make my students feel comfortable, allow them to earn my trust and then focus on finding and fixing their English mistakes. This is all done through English conversation using fun and interactive topics.
As a TESOL teacher, my teaching philosophy revolves around student empowerment while focusing on their specific needs. To accomplish this, I enjoy applying a wide variety of strategies based on essential educational principles encompassing cognitive functioning, collaborative learning, instructional planning and assessment.
We will first assess your needs, your communication written, oral and comprehensive. We will find a way to learn which will be fun and engaging. I will put you at ease - you will feel understood and supported my be.
I get to know the student first, informative assessment will apply if its needed. Base on the assessment results, design a specific plan for this particular student to implement. Mainly to encourage students with positive reinforcement, and use scaffolding methods to build their knowledge. Make sure they have fun in my lessons.
My teaching method is to make learning exciting. The main thing I have learned throughout my teaching experience is that if a person is bored during a lesson, their focus will drift elsewhere and they are no longer learning. I approach my lessons with an upbeat attitude to help keep students engaged and having fun during the lessons.
Due to my experience and education in writing articles and copy, I usually base my lessons around the purposes and expressions of writing for academic, professional and personal reasons. My lessons are fairly set in more traditional behaviorist methods and are set classes with set outcomes, but I create interesting projects with an open scope that enable students to pursue their own interests.
Hey there, thanks for taking a look at my new profile! As someone who studied Japanese for a few years in the typical rote fashion and remembering none of it, I am fully aware that students don’t learn very well by simply attempting to memorise material without any context to the real world. I believe that languages are tools, and you learn how to use tools best by applying them.
I base my methodology on the Lexical Approach which is always teaching a word in context i.e. in a 'chunk' of language or in a phrase. I also write down sentences which weren't 100% correct during a lesson and I ask the student to correct them him/herself at the end.
My English teaching method is suitable for people learning the English language at all stages. Structure is split by oral and written. Every lesson is customised towards your level of understanding and the areas in which you would like to improve.
My lessons are designed to fit the motivation of each individual student. Exam and University preparation lessons are focused on the requirements of the tests and designed not only to improve your English but also to help you understand the tricks of the game and how to overcome nervousness and manage your time correctly.
My teaching method is inclusive of: High interactive short activities where I provide a teacher demonstration followed by student interaction. I am mainly hands on with my teaching practice getting students to actively put into practice what they learn in class by way of role play and demonstration.
