Each child is different and I find their strengths and weekness and help them build on it. I help children in English by reading novels like Matilda (Roald Dahl) and understand what they are reading by doing activities. I also assist with writing stories based on novels. In Maths, I work through the year level curriculum such as worded problems, algebra, geometry, measurements etc.
Tuition is collaboration; far from simply telling my clients what to do we begin by focusing on your strengths and weaknesses, working together to develop the best plan for achieving a clearly articulated goal. One of my most important goals is to develop in my clients a sense of self-consciousness in their learning - an awareness of why they read and write the things they read and write.
My methodology involves individualising lessons for each student. I believe no student is the same and I value the different strengths of each student I teach. I will take the time to get to know the student and plan an individualised lesson. I also believe it is important to keep their parents involved in the goal-setting process.
My biggest aim as a tutor and pre-service teacher is to create a supportive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment where my students have the room to grow, learn, ask questions and seek feedback.
Within my pedagogy I implement...
I believe in an ESL class that students should do most of the talking (so long as it's relevant!). Role-play and group discussions play a major role in classes for teenagers and for younger children I use lots of games and songs. I always start a lesson with a game (no matter the age) to recap the information learned in the previous lessons.
My teaching approach is to encourage children, through positive praise and providing appropriate support, so that they can discover and increase their learning themselves. I aim to not only teach the content but also to teach children how to support their own learning and foster a love a learning. I usually start each session with a talking point or something to hook the interest of the child.
My teaching method depends on the student. I am able to apply a few different techniques but generally I will assess where the student is at and create a plan for their learning. Tasks and lessons will vary to allow students to learn the content, build confidence and apply it to the real world.
I believe that students learn best when they are enjoying the subject. Therefore, I strive to implement a student-based approach to my teaching by tailoring my method of information delivery or teaching strategy to better suit the student's needs and interests. Hence, I am willing to utilize a variety of mediums and creative activities to connect with the student in terms that they can understand.
My teaching methodology is student-directed. I provide input and support as needed, but structure the lesson around each student's particular point of need. I have extensive experience working with students who need assistance with a subject of difficulty, particularly English.
I tailor my classes to the curriculum of every individual student, working on the key skills and constantly referring to the rubric and criteria.
I approach the topic that students are learning to get them to use reading strategies that they would be familiar with, such as sounding out unfamiliar words. My teaching methodology included collaborative learning and I support sustainability in the classroom.
My teaching method is based on covering any gaps of knowledge a student might have and further clarifying them by testing them and evaluating their progress. I would ideally like to spend half the lesson on theory and the remaining half on questions and practicing what they've learnt.
My lessons are created to suit individual students as each one has a different learning style. I always have warm-up exercises and test their skills to see improvement over each week. I believe that one can only improve if they love what they learn, hence unique methods must be applied to engage students and allow them to achieve the best of their potential.
I teach based on the material provided and take allot of practice tests for Naplan. For school kids (smaller classes, all subjects) i go thoroughly over the Text Book. I change my teaching method on the basis of the learning capacity and grasping power of students.
Having recently completed year 12, I have an intimate understanding of these subjects and can offer invaluable guidance in concepts and content; essay writing, exam technique and short answer questions; and general management of stress and the year 12 workload.
I am a very patient teacher who can work with a range of ages (from primary to high school). I'm aware every child learns differently so i will often focus on how to best teach a child based on how they learn.
Mine is an encouraging, solutions-focused style of teaching that is highly individualised for the particular needs of each learner. I advance English proficiencies through positive reinforcement and by building foundations, not just of grammar and so on, but by offering students strategies to build academic practice and knowledge of the methods and rules of study itself.
I love creating a warm, open environment for learning, where my students feel free to be creative and express themselves. I am very flexible and can adjust my instruction according to my students' specific needs. I will meet you exactly where you're at and listen to you and find out what skills you are lacking and help you get there with compassion and efficiency.
I do have my own methods of teaching student to have a good education and deserve many technique from me. I have a lot of technique to teach all of my students to keep up with all homework even at school.
My teaching is based on the goals and requirements of my students or mentees. I am flexible to provide online learning (audio or video classes) or even personal coaching (Melbourne Eastern Suburbs) if he/she needs help in any specific area of the language. I am currently looking to teach individuals who are looking to crack competitive English exams (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE etc.
Rather than give theory lessons, I have found students learn best from practical exercises (ideally homework that you have to do anyway). Rather than tell you what to do, I ask questions to help you think through how to approach the work. I then give constructive feedback on each draft.
My teaching method revolves around the development of three crucial skills. 1. Close examination of the text. (This skill dictates the quality of your response). 2. Construction/Structure. (Ensuring arguments are presented logically and appropriately). 3. Expression (Finer details such as spelling, grammar, vocabulary and fluidity.
I cater my lessons to you! You want to focus on spelling today, you got it. You want to write a killer essay? Awesome! Done deal. You don't know what you want? I'm here for ya, I have years of English experience and am 1 year experienced in tutoring English in a wide range of contexts, from primary school to the top end of year 12.
My approach to tutoring changes depending on the student I am working with. I acknowledge that not one style works for everyone and so use the first session to work out how the student will respond to different types of teaching methods. Then determine how best to help them learn and get the most out of the session.
I base my classes on YOU. All methods I devise are based on where you need help. I also know that the best way for the majority to learn is to have practical applications. That is, not sitting down and filling out a sheet, but discussing the issues and how we can improve them. Most of my learning tasks have some form of practical task.
I have worked with mainly higher primary, lower secondary age students. Also student and adults with special needs. My teaching method is true to the VCAL principles of hands on learning and relating true historical events and current issues for motivation in writing.
I try to adjust my teaching method according to the individual student's relative ability. Assessing their general capabilities allows me to scaffold their learning accordingly. In addition, I would ideally know what the student intends to get out of the class. I'm a patient but firm teacher, and I will work as hard as the student is willing to work with me.
My Teaching Method is giving individual assistance to students giving them an opportunity to think outside the box. I believe every student has an Unique way of Studying. We Tutors just has to figure that out and help them.
My teaching methodology is to ensure that all ideas and concepts are communicated effectively to the student, regardless of their ability. I will work with you to overcome barriers to learning, and ensure that any gaps in knowledge are fully rectified. I also like to ensure that all learning is fun, and will incorporate activities into the learning wherever possible.
