My teaching methodology involves working together as a team to create positive learning experiences. I believe in positivity, patience and persistence. My ultimate goal is for my student to gain confidence in their specific learning areas.
I am a very patient teacher who can work with a range of ages (from primary to high school). I'm aware every child learns differently so i will often focus on how to best teach a child based on how they learn.
1. Develop their interpersonal skills through group participation and conversation 2. Reading Paragraphs 3. Motivate students to write their own ideas about a situation 4. Listening exercises through videos/presentation clips/ movies talk etc.
I begin with the premise that ALL students have what it takes to achieve their academic goals. Completing a Masters in Education (Inclusive Learning) has given me the tools to meet the learning needs of all of my students. Our sessions will be informative, fun and creative.
I like to tailor my lessons to students' needs and individual goals - I am happy to help with homework, clarify school lessons, as well as provide extra relevant texts and resources if students would like.
Areas of specialisation are English and Drama. In addition to completing my Masters I have a BA in performing Arts from Charles Sturt University. My philosophy is founded in working to engage students with subject material in dynamic and original ways that work best for their preferred learning style.
I'm a friendly, creative and flexible uni student with 10 years of experience working with kids. I graduated in 2015 and currently study at the University of Melbourne.
My teaching method involves working around an individual's focus. I usually get the student to give me an idea of their understanding or interpretation of a work and I help build on that with my knowledge and what is required from the course content.
I believe in an ESL class that students should do most of the talking (so long as it's relevant!). Role-play and group discussions play a major role in classes for teenagers and for younger children I use lots of games and songs. I always start a lesson with a game (no matter the age) to recap the information learned in the previous lessons.
I am interested in studies not because I had to study, its because I like studying. So,if we make each and every student understand that how interesting the power of knowledge is then I believe they will be able to focus on things easily. Starting with what they know and then slowly getting into the subjects.
I specialise in Essay writing (particularly for high school) and general grammar editing of any written work. I excel at writing and achieved 100% in all my Year 12 assessments by learning a few simple ways to write and structure an essay effectively.
I have endured a whole 24 college and 49 university classes in my time, and as such know the difference between good teaching and bad...I've experienced it all! I know what works for the average student, but can certainly tailor it if need-be to get required results.
I believe in enjoying what you do. This makes the students feel interested towards learning. I feel teaching basics right in a way students enjoy.
You will guide what we cover, but I will help show you numerous ways to understand and learn things. I am a flexible teacher, and I'm willing to use various methods from diagrams to analogies to help find a method that suits you! Understanding what you are learning is absolutely vital, and therefore that is something we will focus on within our sessions.
I like to eat pho on the weekends, learn as much as I can through reading and podcasts during the week and when I’m not tutoring, risk my life getting my back taken in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Each child is different and I find their strengths and weekness and help them build on it. I help children in English by reading novels like Matilda (Roald Dahl) and understand what they are reading by doing activities. I also assist with writing stories based on novels.
As a recent graduate from high school, I am offering tuition in all areas of English and Literacy, including essay writing, engagement with texts, reading, creative writing, handwriting and so on, at a primary and secondary school level.
I try to make things as simple as they are. We often over-complicate our tasks and work, and I see it as my job — something I enjoy — to help students to develop basic strategies to get tasks done.
My teaching method encourages the student to be creative on confident with manipulating their own language to inform and justify their points in English. I am very relaxed, easy going and allow to the student to go at their own pace before pushing them above and beyond.
I offer a balanced teaching method providing general guidance to my students on topics covered whilst also ensuring the student is able to drive the direction of the content being discussed in order to focus on their areas of concern.
I like to believe that anything that is to be taught or learnt, has to be done slowly. I like to teach and read along or study along with the student aloud and slow. The method I believe to be the simplest and easiest way to teach and learn is to understand the concept through questions and as a story.
I focus on the learner and diagnose where they're at, as well as work out where they want or need to be. I scaffold them to that endpoint. As a teacher I am enthusiastic and engaging, and make the lessons relevant to the student. My teaching style includes a lot of discussion. As a teacher I am fair, but I am firm.
First and foremost, I like to cater my lessons towards the individual student. Everyone learns differently, so I always try my best to work at a pace that I believe will provide my students with the best results. As an English tutor, I do like to provide students with different vocabulary words each session, so they can continue to develop their ability to express thoughts and ideas.
My teaching methodology starts from the basics gradually getting to the advanced level with plenty of engagement with the kids, since, interaction is the key to learning. I also include interesting ways to increase their Vocabulary, Words are the building blocks of a language.
First a brief overview of the topic, and then explain all the topics that would be covered on that day and try to come up with an example for every topic that can make it interesting and easier to understand.
I am very easygoing and love to let my passion for literature and reading shine through my lessons. We will be reading excerpts from famous poems, novels, and short stories to really read in between the lines and analyze various texts. I'll make sure to make it interesting and include Youtube videos, online games, and real world problems that we will solve together.
My teaching method is discussion of weaknesses then tailoring the lessons to strengthen that skill. I based my classes on exactly what the student needs from me.
My approach to tutoring changes depending on the student I am working with. I acknowledge that not one style works for everyone and so use the first session to work out how the student will respond to different types of teaching methods. Then determine how best to help them learn and get the most out of the session.
My lessons are geared towards all students as I am to encourage engagement in learning through adaptability and tailoring to the needs of a student. My tutoring structure would take into account what the student is having trouble with, what any teachers comments have highlighted and what I believe could be improved.
Everyone is different and I like to base my teaching around the needs of the student. Whether you would like to work on specific assignments together, discuss ideas and brainstorm, or just need general ongoing support we can find a structure that will suit your personality.
