As a teacher of English, my method begins at reading. Once the necessary lesson has been read, thoroughly, I explain the context and the literal meaning of the lesson. Brainstorming for the views of the students is also important, especially while doing lessons on Literature. After a thorough discussion, an essay should be due for clarity of understanding.
I believe in face to face teaching/one-on-one approach rather than online methods. I feel this would give a more personal touch and get to know people very well. Feel free to approach me with any queries you may have. Your smile is my satisfaction.
My teaching methodology is simple. I teach languages for student or anyone willing to learn English, Sinhalese and Tamil. For a school students - For English - I would mainly focus in the school grade marking system. I would focus on the base and and the advance factors to make a good student to a great student.
I'm a recent graduate of Suzanne Cory High School and I've maintained a 93% average for both Year 11 and Year 12. My lessons will include regular worksheets and notes to solidify concepts. To ensure you are prepared for your SACS and the exams, I have prepared planned lessons for 40 weeks which will greatly help you achieve a high study score for the subject.
My teaching method is very patient but critical. I will provide personal resources in order to help you familiarise yourself with the subject and to confidently prepare you for assessments. These resources include summary notes, practice questions and sample essays.
I base my classes on concepts and my teaching method is friendly and interactive.
Recent High school Graduate with a 40 study score in English. Lessons will be focused on the needs of the individual to ensure that improvements are made in areas that the student needs to focus and improve on the most. Lessons will be approached with various methods that I myself have employed throughout my schooling and found the most effective in improving English based skills.
My believe that in order to learn properly, it is important to include fun activities which encourage learning so the student does not become bored of studying. I also like to encourage learning by relating things taught at school to the real world so students understand the importance and purpose of the content they are getting taught.
I have prepared materials on my own and sometimes I think it would be better for the students to buy books depending on the situation. I will also take a look at the syllabus and focus on their weaker areas. There would be a test every 2 weeks.
Having fun, feeling safe, motivated and keen to have a go at anything, is the key to learning and what I promote through my lessons. Numeracy would see a quick warm up and an introduction, followed by a lesson.
First and foremost I want you to love the subject - so that's my first priority. Finding a subject enjoyable makes hard work much easier. Anything that you're struggling with I will address when the time comes, but generally we'll focus on how to analyse a text, essay writing, and research.
I am very easygoing and love to let my passion for literature and reading shine through my lessons. We will be reading excerpts from famous poems, novels, and short stories to really read in between the lines and analyze various texts. I'll make sure to make it interesting and include Youtube videos, online games, and real world problems that we will solve together.
My teaching method is to sit down with students and see what they specifically need help with. If a student only needs someone to proofread a paper, I can do that, but I am also able to give them a little more help if needed.
My teaching philosophy is a critical and personal understanding of the text will guarantee improved marks. Lessons will not only engage with texts, your values and how you perceive the world.
My lessons are for anyone who wants to learn and improve their English speaking, reading, writing skills. I have a friendly demeanour and am patient with my students. I want to see that they perform well and I work hard to acheive that.
I follow the VCAA Victorian Curriculum framework to structure my lessons (just like your school teacher!). I aim to make lessons fun and engaging through various pedagogical teaching methods such as discussion, modelled learning and group work (if applicable). I am more than happy to tailor lessons to best suit your learning style (such as visual learning, ICT) if at all possible.
When it comes to preparing for IELTS or for that matter any other English test exam, approach is what matters the most for me.
I structure my approach around the needs of the student.
I believe look, listen and learn method. I also give lot of videos n play to understand concept and work as a group.
I encourage active learning with constant support, guidance and encouragement. My philosophy is that we work together to gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter. I will meet with you face to face if possible and provide online support also.
My teaching method is generally based on the students strengths and outside of school interests and areas in which they excel in.
For subjects in English literature, I like to provide students with the opportunity to read the texts and come to the lesson ready to discuss points, themes or motifs that stand out to them. I would encourage my students, especially for IB English, to practice writing as many commentaries as possible. I would provide them with the opportunity to do this during the lesson and also for homework.
Presenting materials in a variety of different ways to suit students’ learning styles is something that I believe is really important. I specialise in visual representations of content, and explaining things verbally in a clear and precise way.
I take a student-led approach by first asking students to come to me with what they need to work on. I first assess what the student knows and try to build from there, working together to extend their knowledge on a particular subject. We end the lesson by recapping what has been learnt and work together on a plan for the next lesson.
My approach to teaching English is by giving students a coherent and engaging structure through which they can complete their work.
I base my classes on YOU. All methods I devise are based on where you need help. I also know that the best way for the majority to learn is to have practical applications. That is, not sitting down and filling out a sheet, but discussing the issues and how we can improve them. Most of my learning tasks have some form of practical task.
I base my classes as interactive as possible. I like my students to have fun while learning and make the lessons memorable. To do this I will link my teaching to real life experiences and use many resources. I also like students to have active learning experiences rather than being 'talked at'.
Primary and high school students have LOTS of fun in my lessons, and when students have fun they LEARN and REMEMBER what they need to remember. All my lessons are student-centred so they cater for personality, ability and effort. I always make students laugh a lot and open up their minds to finding their massive potential.
As a general rule of thumb, I consider that everyone's learning style is different, and would be under the assumption that if someone is seeking tutoring to assist them in their studies, perhaps the generic teaching methodology in school or university is not suited to them - so I would spend a little time with the individual to firstly try and decipher their own learning style, then alter the...
